Restaurants près de Down at the Farm

We ate at The Engine Room prior to going to the theatre. The service (from Caitlin) was really great, friendly and attentive. The food is reasonably priced, well cooked and nicely presented. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. We enjoyed the experience and will certainly come again.

Despite arriving a few minutes early we were shown straight to a table and were a little disappointed that it was next to a group of old who were being loud…I was pleased after a few moments they quietened down. We quickly chose our drinks unfortunately the young server couldn’t answer our queries but that was quickly sorted and drinks ordered. When she returned unfortunately both drinks tipped landing on table and into the lap of my partner. After the initial shock she adjourned to toilet and dried off. Luckily the skirt dried quickly. We were reseated and drinks reordered. Food was good and the prawns and calamari starter particularly good. Pasta main was generous and the steak was a little fatty even for a rib eye which was a little over done. Overall the evening was a success and we appreciated the free drinks and disc for the drinks issue, which was resolved without any animosity. The server returned and apologised but as we both said accidents happen and it was resolved satisfactorily without us even asking! All in all a good night and as a last comment I hope the server is ok as she seemed nervous potentially new?

We had the lunch special and it was such great value - food was good and service great. Lovely place to go

Regular visitors here and it never disappoints. Food is amazing and the staff really helpful. Highly recommend the Beef Massamam curry and my wife always gets the Star of Siam special rice
