It's a wonderful 'olde worlde' inn, a delight to local and foreign visitors. Once inside, the greeting is immediate and cheerful. Food can be eaten in the bar or upstairs in the quieter dining room. Either way, the food is always excellent. The service is superb, friendly and fun. We have yet to be anything other than extremely delighted on our many visits.

Excellent meal and service - would highly recommend

This was a wonderful surprise. We have lived in the area for 12 years but never been to this pub. We have tried all the highest recommended around us but never here. We can’t recommend this highly enough. Went for Sunday lunch and the moment we walked through the door had a great friendly reception. Had a couple of glasses of Prosecco in the garden then went to eat. Starters amazing - tigers prawns grilled on charcoal and the most amazing Cullen skink we have ever tasted. We then had Sunday roast which was superb with two great bottles of wine. Then went and chilled out in the garden. Fantastic service all the way through. Simply wonderful. Loved it.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday here! Overall ambiance was exellent. The food was amazing! The staff was wonderful! The f&b staff who attended to us was very professional and served us with a smile. The wild mushroom Tagliatelle was the best I’ve ever had. The Salmon was cooked to perfection too! The live band outside was a bonus. Such a lovely experience spending birthdays here. Did not disappoint at any thing we are satisfied just like last year but this year’s menu was far more better than the previous one. Portion was good. We found the mouth watering calamari in paignton that we had last year on the sister’s hotel next door so we are very happy.
