As you walk into the Peacock you get the feeling of history, built in 1652, the hotel was originally used as a dower house for Haddon Hall. The link between the two survives today as Lord Edward Manners brought the hotel back into his estate in 2004, the hotel has many pieces of unique furniture and art work from the Estate. The Bar is another step back into the past with a copper topped bar and untouched surroundings, the extensive cocktail and drinks list can be enjoyed in the bar or lounge before dinner. Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes–the top ten percent in the country. We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu & a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods. We serve truly local ingredients including organically-reared beef & lamb from the Haddon Estate. We are open for lunch in our bar and restaurant Tuesday to Saturday and dinner in our bar Tuesday to Friday and dinner in our restaurant Tuesday to Saturday.

    We had a very lovely lunch. Food was very nice and in a very nice setting. A special mention to our server Jeremy who was very attentive and friendly. He made sure our dining experience was very good. Excellent customer service.

    This was a birthday treat and my third time. It didn’t disappoint in anyway. From start to finish the staff were impeccable with the service. The food was fabulous different tastes my husband wouldn’t normally have. He thoroughly enjoyed it. We do alot of Afternoon Teas around the Uk when we are out and about. Chatsworth stands out all the time. Christmas is my next visit I m already looking forward to it. Do go you won’t be disappointed.

    Amazing warm welcome. Casual but beautiful pub felt very welcome in our walking gear Nothing too much trouble and attentive staff on hand to help guide you when undecided (I can vouch for the local ale recommended by the bar girl. It's very good) had burgers for lunch and were very tasty. Could see this place being very busy on a weekend Would 100% recommend Well done Devonshire we will be returning with our friends in due course

    An absolutely wonderful Jubilee picnic, the coronation chicken and rice was gorgeous. Such a wonderful array of rolls, quiche, scotch egg, crisps to accompany, you could tell they were specially selected for quality, and a fresh cream scone and jam, summer berries and brownie to finish. All beautifully packaged in a lovely insulated bag. Perfect.
