The Bateman Arms was built c.1750 by Sir James Bateman (Lord Mayor Of London) as a building where his Estate workers would collect on pay day. Over the years it became a staging post for weary Drovers to refresh themselves as they walked livestock from West Wales to markets in Birmingham and London.Today, Mike Pope and his team provide a warm welcome to both locals and the many business and leisure visitors who travel to the Marches throughout the year. Serving a rustic menu packed with pub classics and other items such as freshly baked pizzas, we have something for everyone to enjoy. Delicious food. Amazing meat, soft, tender and nicely cooked. Excellent wine. All of it (vegs, desserts) was perfect. Great service and enchanting place.

Fabulous choices of starters, mains and desserts. The hardest part was picking one. All the courses chosen were beautifully presented, making the eating even more of a pleasure. All the food was delicious. A perfect evening out.

I cannot praise The Bateman Arms enough We ate Christmas lunch here today and it was perfect! Lovely venue, delicious food and the best staff ever! We will definitely be back!
