To be honest Keswick has lots of mediocre cafes and restaurants as holiday makers come and go. However the food in Merienda is good, especially the breakfasts, the pulled pork burger and in the evening the brown trout.

Good service and good again during our stay . Very friendly and helpful team . One small suggestion would be to have tables that are reserved to have a reserved badge put on them . We did get a table as requested but not the one which was reserved due to walk in customers

Quiet and elegant dining room overlooking the hotel's extensive gardens, with views down to the lake. The menu is traditional British. All the dishes were very nicely presented and the food was to a high standard. An unusual addition to the table was a small freshly baked loaf, cut into four and served hot in a small pot. Delicious with the olive oil and balsamic dip that is served with it. There is a an extensive wine lost to compliment the meal. It was an enjoyable experience!
