Hochi Mama was the God Mother of all aspiring street artists and rappers in the early nineties. The magnificent Stamford Park Homestead was built in 1882 by the entrepreneurial Row family as a Gentleman’s Residence. After many years of neglect, the homestead and six acres of grounds have been aesthetically restored, allowing it to once again become the ‘Jewel in Knox City’. Stamford Parks current custodians, have waved their ‘whimsical’ magic of both design and true hospitality over the beautiful estate and it is now a stunning property serving the public for what it was originally intended – a place to gather, meet, entertain and unwind.

Mount Macedon's first hotel, The Mountain Inn, was built in 1864 by carpenter William Watson. It was initially located right next door to the Mount Macedon Hotel’s current location. It was later renamed Waterfalls Hotel.William Watson and his family lived in the original hotel building, where in his retirement he carved creations, known as Watson’s Curiosities, that were displayed in his front garden. By 1871, the name had changed again, this time to the Oriental Hotel. This was before a new weatherboard building, also named Oriental Hotel, was erected two doors to the south. In 1931, the Oriental Hotel was destroyed by a fire that began in the kitchen and quickly spread throughout the whole building.It was rebuilt soon after as the brick building on the same site that stands today as The Mount Macedon Hotel.At times the hotel has been named Oriental Hotel and Gowings Mount Macedon Hotel before reverting to its original name, Mountain Inn in 1987.

    We went for the Feed Me menu after seeing a show at The Princess Theatre. Being vegan our options were limited but every plate was super delicious! The staff were engaging, friendly and helpful. Although we had a small table almost in a corner it didn't feel cramped and we hardly noticed the diners around us. Great value. Great location. Amazing food. Highly recommend

    Hochi Mama in Richmond is a must-visit! The food is delicious, the service is outstanding, the ambience is vibrant, and the prices are very reasonable. I can’t wait to go back!

    Excellent from beginning to end. The feed me option is excellent value. All three cocktails I tried were fantastic and well balanced enough to not give you indigestion like some strong overly sweet ones. The sandstorm chicken was a standout and will have me coming back again for sure. Well done. The only critique I could give is that they were too efficient and the food came out pretty fast, that it felt like the whole meal was over too soon.

    Have to be my favourite pub . The specials are the best value for money . Steak all day and into the night on a Tuesday and roast for $24 on a Sunday . Excellent service from our waiter “Darius” so professional and knowledgeable . I like to dine here every couple of months as I live on the Mornington Peninsula and this would have to be the best pub meal ever . So Thankyou I will be back .
