In the mountains of North Georgia the Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant has been welcoming guests since 1922. Restored in 2008, the hotel and restaurant offer the best of rustic elegance. From the antique heart pine walls to the locust beams on our deck, expect unique, local craftsmanship. The decor is rich with period antiques, hand-woven rugs, and local artwork.

It features a creatively prepared and presented Contemporary American menu with a Southern twist in the farm to table tradition. Fresh produce locally grown is hand selected and prepared by our Chef de Cuisine, whose entrees respect the natural flavors of high quality, humanely raised and locally harvested food. His kitchen produces cuisines from many regions including Classical French, Southern USA, and Mediterranean. Many guests describe the food at the Lake Rabun Hotel as "the best in the mountains."

Wonderful opportunity to take our family to this rustic and exceptional lodge. Small menu for Christmas Eve dinner but it was fantastic. The staff were attentive and very pleasant. The prime rib was incredible Thanks so much!

Dinner was delicious, the service was lovely. The only comment would be to make sure to wear warm clothing to dinner when the outside temperatures are at freezing!!

Our sever was Taylor. She was outstanding! My daughter and I had a wonderful time and the food was amazing! Highly recommend!

REALLY REALLY DISAPPOINTING. I had read decent reviews online and the pictures of the restaurant looked quaint and cozy. I was excited to have a nice dinner while our family was spending a weekend up in North Georgia. The service was REALLY bad. The greeter barely looked or spoke to us before shuffling us to our seat. The place was almost completely empty (we had 8:30pm reservations) so it wasn't b/c they were busy. The 1st thing I noticed as we sat down was one of the spoons on the white table cloth was coated in some thick hard brown substance (looked like chocolate?). I have no idea how someone didn't catch that while setting the table b/c it was extremely dirty. The server (who was very young) knew nothing about the menu, didn't know how anything was prepared and even didn't know if they had bread (spoiler: it was on the menu and they did). The small menu became even smaller as we went to order, b/c the steak, trout and veggie pasta were all out. Basically 3 of the things we were excited to have. The prime rib was the "substitute" for the steak and when I asked about it, the server mentioned "it's the 1st time the chef has made this so she didn't know anything about it". When it came out it tasted like the chef didn't know anything about it either. The salmon dish was bland and the burgers even lacking. I guess the bright spot of the evening was a decent glass of wine and the paintings hanging around the small nook we sat in. They were really pretty. It's just tough paying over $250 for a meal and service that poor. It really put a damper on the evening. Everyone left disappointed and honestly still a little hungry so we stopped at a gas station on the way back to our cabin.

It’s disappointing when substitutions don’t meet expectations, and it’s understandable that the lack of confidence from the server added to the frustration. I’m glad to hear the wine and artwork were enjoyable, but it’s clear the meal didn’t live up to what you had hoped for. We really appreciate hearing your feedback, as it helps us to improve how we are able to serve our guests. Hopefully, you will allow us to make it up to you and show you what we are truly about here at Lake Rabun Hotel and Restaurant.
