We had a delightful evening at Lafayette Inn for dinner on a Friday night. The staff was wonderful and made great recommendations on the menu. We both had steak and loved it- perfectly cooked! We also tried the corn fritters and definitely recommend those too! The Inn is super cute and I loved the historic feel of the dining room. Dinner was relaxed and was just what we were looking for on our mountain weekend away. 10/10 would recommend if you're in the area.

Lovely menu and great food. Best part is always the service. Not sure how they manage to be fast and efficient while also relaxed and friendly.

The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Our waitress was great and helped to make the birthdays in the room (there were multiple that night) a lot of fun!

Enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner at this gem in a small town in Virginia. Food and service was excellent. The dessert was a warm butterscotch bundt cake ala mode, it was delicious! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Lafayette Inn is a treat. Usually have specials, but the menu is outstanding as well. Plus, you can visit with the cats!

This is a great little find in the middle of a little town called Standardsville in Virginia. We have been to this restaurant several times over the past decade and it always exceeds our expectations. Excellent service and food!

This is our second visit. It was my son's birthday and he wanted to go back (we did not as our first experience wasn't great). Overall, the food was average. The calamari is definitely thawed from frozen & rubbery. The main courses were ok - the Cajun pasta had three shrimp. The fried tomatoes which were not good. The shrimp & grits is too sweet, not what a traditional dish tastes like. The room is too warm. The service was good. I wouldn't go back.

As someone who enjoys period dinning I chose the restaurant. For charm I rate it a 3.5. Would be higher but I thought it was a little worn. Food was tasteful but average. Prices were average and appropriate for the meals. Scallops were undercooked and needed to be seared further. Waitress was very pleasant. As it was 9pm on a Sunday evening we were last patrons there when we paid the bill and it was obvious they wanted us out. Drove a long way to dine there and in future would choose a different option particularly the lack of friendliness when we were leaving.
