Il est situé au cœur de Buckhead. Un favori des locaux depuis 1978, La Grotta rafle le prix du Meilleur restaurant d'Atlanta par le magazine Atlanta depuis le milieu des années 1980, a obtenu le prix prestigieux DiRoNA et est récipiendaire du prix AAA Four Diamond depuis le début des années 90. As usual, great food and incredible service! Because we were celebrating joint birthdays, the staff thoughtfully gave us complimentary glasses of champagne. LaGrotta has now become our place to celebrate our birthdays!

Always very solid. Made a reservation quite far ahead for a birthday dinner. Admittedly, did not request a specific restaurant location. Upon arrival they elected to seat us on the patio. As the weather was cool and threatening a drizzle there was only a couple of tables occupied. Most of the tables were covered with table clothes to avoid exposure. Very unappealing for yr few diners out there. Of course, after the outdoor heater was lit it began raining. After going inside waiting at the bar I insisted I didn’t want to sit outside in the first place. While there were tables inside we were told we had to go outside again but under the overhang. For a special evening I don’t feel we were treated appropriately. If there is a next time I will insist on indoor seating in November! Too expensive a meal to deal with the attitude.

Jim! Thank you, first of all, for your candid review and for continuing to come and visit with us. We appreciate any and all remarks to better our organization. So with regards to your reservations last night, it appears as though you had made the reservations for outdoors online, and I'm thinking you didn't realize that. While tables may have existed upon your arrival, I can asure you that they were all sat by 630p, and that is why we couldn't accomodate you indoors. We had you "waiting" because we were earnestly trying to move tables around to get you indoors and were a little understaffed due to some last minute sick employees. Please call us in advance next time to make reservations and we will make sure that you are seated indoors, thank you again for your understanding.

Perfect evening to celebrate a special occasion with great food, excellent wine and special service. We had a most enjoyable evening to make. It perfect.

What a wonderful spot! We can’t wait to go back! The ambiance was so quaint and elegant. The menu had some amazing choices and the dessert ended up being my favorite even though the meal was fabulous as well. The service was spectacular. They treat you like your family. They have a beautiful dining room as well as a courtyard area. It’s a hidden gem!!

We started to frequent La Grotta once each month as a treat to ourselves, but last night’s experience had more lows than highs. Sadly, the wait staff and their lack of attention did not make for a special evening. It was a disappointment to encounter this at a fine dining establishment. 1. The host is always a delight, and the young woman last night did not disappoint. 2. The server and some of the other wait staff either need retraining or need to go. They were more inclined to work at anywhere else, but certainly not a restaurant. 3. We were served a basket of bread with four chintzy slices, dry and brittle. We usually dive into that basket of bread, such a disappointment. Crackers have more flavor. 4. The waiter wanted to be anywhere else. He kept leaning into our table, placing his palms on the table, and rocking it. Very physical. He never reviewed the specials, just pointed to the page, and said there’s the specials. When I asked for advice because I’m vegetarian and have already ordered many of the pasta items on the menu, he said no, we only have the pasta items on the menu. I then asked if perhaps the chef might have a few off menu items that they might recommend, and the waiter told me no and said maybe I should order a few vegetable side plates for my meal. Rude tone and attitude. 5. We then told the waiter that he could no longer provide service to us. 6. The manager was very responsive, we were able to stay at our lovely table, and the replacement waiter did offer a few recommendations for entrees so that I wasn’t eating basically the same thing each time I went to the restaurant. Delicious. 7. When we finish the entree, one of the wait staff will clear our table of crumbs, so we can basically start with a fresh table for espresso and dessert. Nope, didn’t happen. After a while, you get tired of asking for things like fresh bread and a clean table. And yes, I did ask for fresh bread after initially being served that meager, dry whatever.

Such a memorable Atlanta experience but sadly the meal disappointed everyone. The pastas were okay, the tiramisu was delicious. Overall, the food did not taste as good as past meals.

The Service was outstanding. Enjoyed our experience from start to finish and will definitely come back even though we live over 100 miles away. And did I mention the food was exceptional!
