La Gran Terraza is a California bistro featuring farm-to-table lunch and dinner. The Grand Dining Room and terrace have fantastic views of Tecolote Canyon and Mission Bay. OTooles offers small bites, nightly happy hour, a cozy fireplace, local craft beers and an excellent wine list.

La Gran Terraza was our second restaurant visied during San Diego Restaurant Week (9/23 - 9/27/24). Both had a great lunch menu, but La Gran Terraza took food quality, presentation, and service to a superior level. Highly Recommend

Food was hit or miss. Several items were wonderful, some not so much. Good service and we had a nice table by the window.

Restaurant Week lunch menu was excellent and had sufficient variety of items. The Eggplant Parmigiano was superb. Our waiter was efficient, friendly and professional. Well done.

We came for the wine and food pairing dinner. 4 wines paired with each of the course. La Gran Terraza does these pairings through out the year, definitely worth checking into if you've never been.

The entres were all over cooked and tasted slightly burnt. With the wagyu burger especially being very underwhelming in flavor and the truffle chips having the flavor of slightly overcooked toast. Customer service was fair but the weight staff forgot to bring a spoon for our dessert though they were busy so was understandable. Their desserts though tasted very good would highly recommend .

Elegant venue, tables and linens impeccable, lovely views. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Food beautifully presented, very fresh, and tasty. Only downfall was coffee service -- first cold, then overflowing onto saucer.

This is my go-to lunch spot in the summer. Great view, excellent service and food. Highly recommend.

We had the occasion to try lunch. This was our first time here so we were not sure what to expect. Service from check in to lunch was very good. All Tables were set with linens and we had a beautiful view overlooking Tecalote canyon. For starters They brought out bread with a hummus spread, which lacked flavor. We started with a lavender drink which was quite good. My wife ordered zatar chicken with cous cous which was a little lack luster. I had the Duck with grilled broccoli and mashed potatoes. The presentation was nice. The vegetables were good but the duck again seemingly lacked that rich flavor usually found in Duck. Perhaps it was an off day with USD being on summer schedule. Next time we will try the Steak Frites or Wagyu beef to see how they stand up.
