La tradition d'excellence culinaire de la famille Sena remonte au début de 1947 lorsque Carlo « Papa » Sena a commencé à cuisiner dans la Naples de l'après-guerre. La famille a continué cette expérience en traversant l'Atlantique et a ouvert le La Famiglia en 1976 dans un entrepôt de thé colonial. Aujourd'hui, le La Famiglia est devenu le meilleur restaurant italien de Philadelphie et un site d'intérêt majeur de la scène gastronomique dynamique de la ville.

Food was good, ambience ok, service not good. This restaurant wants to be upscale Italian but should move back to south Philly and learn from more established peers. Biggest issue … the service started fine but our server seemed to decide we were not worthy of his effort. Other staff tried to correct but ended up chaotic, ruining the experience. We can’t say for sure but two men dining together seemed to be an issue. Tables around us had no problems that we could see. Clearly, we won’t go back.

What a gem! Delicious food and amazing attentive service. They’ve been in business since 1976 so they must be doing something right. This was our first time and we are adding it to our regular rotation! If you’ve never been - definitely give it a try.

Excellent food & service. The food was beautifully presented & tasted amazing. Outside of Italy, the best Italian we've eaten in. Service was excellent too. Also one of the largest wine cellars I've ever seen in a restaurant.

The food was superb and the staff unparalleled. The only negative was a family with 2 screaming children were seated next to us even though there were other empty tables.

La Famiglia is an old school Italian restaurant located in Old City. The decor and ambiance remind me of restaurants in Italy. A small bar is right inside the entrance. The Italian Margarita was an interesting version of a margarita and very tasty! An extensive wine list is available. The food is delicious! The gnocchi is a signature dish. It is light and airy with a sauce that pairs well, The veal and steak were cooked perfectly. The fish was also excellent. The fried mozzarella and prosciutto was lightly breaded and fried. It was very good. The tiramisu and chocolate cake were very good. We were celebrating a birthday. One dessert came decorated with "Happy Birthday" and a candle. I've been here several times. Each time the food was consistently delicious. Overall, this was a fabulous experience and I'll definitely be back.

A delightful evening for a special celebration and new introductions. The restaurant has an old world charm with service to match. Steeped in tradition, the service was excellent and heartfelt. Food was delightful. Wine selection was extensive. Even the less expensive bottles are decanted at the table. Great bread. Lovely pasta dishes and sauces. We will come back!

As transplanted New Yorkers in Philadelphia, my mother and I felt like we were transported back to lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, or the Bronx for a wonderful meal with attentive, but not rushed, service.
