Dinner with family and friends. The food was tasty . We had everything from appetizers, salad and entrees. Staff were friendly and helpful! Added plus of entertainment was a nice surprise.

We really liked going to La Cena, but something has changed, unless it was an off night. There usually is a very good crowd on a Saturday night, however, there were only 7 tables occupied and a handful of people at the bar. Not sure if it is the new credit card surcharge, which I find a total disgrace that we are expected to cover a business's operating expenses or something else that is keeping people from going there. My husband very much enjoyed his veal dish, however, I had the gnocchi dish and it would have been so much better if the mozzarella had been melted on the gnocchi's instead of 3 large slices of cold mozzarella placed on top of them. We will probably give it one more try in hopes that it was an off night all around. The waitresses were great and did their job very well.

The most aggravating experience one can have with a restaurant is feeling ripped off. Worse when you also are handed a bill with a blank space for a tip, only to realize later that they’ve already added a gratuity. We’ve eaten at this restaurant several times and never experienced receiving a bill with a gratuity charge of 20% already added in. True we’re normally 4 and this time 6. If I’ve seen this in the past it is usual to make the customer aware of this rule. When I looked fully at my receipt the next day I saw that they had already added a 20.% gratuity AND had a blank line marked “tip”. So we paid their 20% and added another 20% ontop by mistake. I called the next day and a person named June identified themselves as a manager. They became very angry and agitated with me for failing to read the bill before paying it. It was my fault for failing to realize “most restaurants do this”. Not my experience, at least not without being informed. Will we return, no. Will they go out of business because of our going elsewhere, doubtful. But I don’t like being treated this way, either as to the slightly concealed additional fees or especially the angry response to my call. To many other good restaurants in this area .

Music was way too loud. We will never eat there again while live music is playing. It was so loud we couldn’t communicate with each other.

Others then running out of a few things, a couple of bottles of wine that were on the menu, it was a pleasant experience. Staff were helpful. Food was delicious. Music was a nice added experience. Old school ambiance was appreciated. Pricing was reasonable.

We saw the restaurant had four stars on Yelp and TripAdvisor. We were excited to try it, ordered calamari for the appetizer. It was cold and rubbery we couldn’t even finish it. Pasta dishes were mediocre at best. I don’t think the scallops in my pasta dish were cooked fully and the sauce was bland. On top of that beware they charge a 3% or 4% charge when you use a credit card, which we didn’t know until we received the bill. When I pointed this out to the waitress, she said oh, there’s a sign at the front door. Which upon leaving was the smallest signage I had ever ever seen. The live music was nice but definitely way too loud. I felt like I was at a wedding and had to raise my voice to speak to my husband. Will not go back.

Tuesday night was the best night. The four of us were seated in a corner table and we were able to a have quiet conversation. Food was delicious. We will be back.
