This place takes service to the next level! From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by all the staff, to the servers who sense your requests before being asked, to the quality and preparation of the courses offered, to the personal interaction with the sushi chef...it's not cheap, but it's worth the price we paid for the experience.

Always a treat to come to Kusakabe. Staff is showing so much hospitality and the food is absolutely delicious. Highest quality ingredients (mostly from Toyosu market), prepared in an impeccable manner. Continuous to be our go to spot for Japanese (Kyoto) food in the city.

Kusakabe has the best omakase in SF. Their Zoe Chutoro, Cherry smoked bonito, and wagyu are delicate, delicious, and flavorful.

KUSAKABE was not cheap but the quality of the fish and the service were outstanding. I am someone who has gone to dinners in Japan that were comparable to this but I have to say that for a japanese sushi restaurant in America to have this kind of quality was very unusual. You will enjoy dinner here if for once in your life you are not concerned about the price and only want a quality experience.

What an amazing experience! Senji was an absolute incredible chef and produced the best nigiri we’ve ever tasted. Will definitely be back!

Unique bites of food, however I would say less is more - too many courses of similar flavors and it would have been helpful to have a list of what I was being served. Staff was delightful and very professional.
