"Le restaurant où les New-Yorkais viennent savourer leur repas" Tout particulièrement apprécié par de nombreuses célébrités comme F. Murray Abraham, Chris Noth et Alec Baldwin, le Knickerbocker est célèbre pour sa musique jazz et ses steaks T-bone de 800 grammes. Le restaurant figure dans la liste des "Restaurants favoris de New York" de Racheal Ray, qui a notamment fait l'éloge du cocktail de crevettes, de la crème d'épinards et bien sûr, des steaks T-bone. Le mot "Knickerbocker" signifie "New York". En entrant, vous saurez que vous êtes dans le Village. Les murs lambrissés affichent une alliance étrange entre des posters du siècle et des caricatures originales d'Al Hirschfield. Les grands sièges en cuir s'étirent le long des murs et les barres en laiton font ressortir le bar en marbre vieux de 100 ans, où Charles Lindbergh a signé son contrat Trans-Atlantique. Le restaurant a pu survivre au temps en utilisant des ingrédients frais issus des marchés locaux, et en offrant un bon rapport qualité/prix. Le week-end, le service est disponible jusqu'à 1h00. Vous pourrez en outre profiter d'un menu de bistro avec des plats plus légers. Un brunch est également servi le week-end et le restaurant est ouvert pendant les jours fériés.

Animation
Knickerbocker has had "Live Jazz" since the days when the village had "Live Jazz". Harry Connick Jr. got his start here, back in the late 80"s. Names like Junior Mance, Bucky Pizzarelli and Ben Wolf now show up on our schedule.We have live jazz on Friday & Saturday nights, starting at 9:45pm till 2:00am. There is a small $3.50 cover charge at the tables after 10:15 pm, or just stop in at the bar for a drink, with no cover.

Excellent porterhouse steak with delicious sides of creamed spinach, onion rings, mushrooms. Excellent service. Wonderful, old Village ambience. Great place to celebrate special family occasions like birthdays. Somewhat expensive, but worth it.

Perfect spot. Warm. Friendly. All three of our dinners were terrific. And, the Knickerbocker Caviar Pie is exceptional!

New Year’s eve at Knickerbockers was great! They had a wonderful menu- Beef Wellington was outstanding as was the soufflé! The music throughout the evening made it all the more festive. It’s a great place to celebrate anything or simply enjoy a great meal.

I and my friends had been to Knickerbocker's for New Year's Eve before and we always had a good time with great food. This year the steak (we got 2 t-bone steaks for the 4 of us), had a lot of grizzle and much of the meat was inedible. The waitress, Ria, copped a "tude" when my husband asked that his creamed spinach be traded for a different veggie. He's on a restricted diet and spinach is the WORST thing he can eat. First, she said "no substitutes", then finally got the manage, John, who made the switch. The music was more bossa nova than US jazz and much singing. We wanted more background jazz with no vocals. BTW, we consumed 3 1/2 bottles of wine! We probably won't return, sad because we really enjoyed Knickerbocker's in the past.

Food was sooo over cooked…sent back…next filet came out raw…manager took it off my bill…so had no dinner….best value and meal is their hamburger with fries. Other than that forget it..nice place for a drink…this was the second time in a row that I sent my meal back…off my list

Never been disappointed by this place. What better way to spend New Year's Eve dinner that getting a good steak which comes with the best mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. They had an addition to the New Year menu which was bone marrow (to die for!) Special occasions are made extra special here which is where we go to every year to greet the New Year. But we also come on just regular days and it is just as good! Totally love this place!
