Four of us dine here regularly but tonight the food delivery was really off. Saw a server walking around for some time with a soup and salad for our table. Finally brought it to us but the soup wasn't hot by then. One person never got her dinner until the rest of us were almost finished and her salmon wasn't cooked as requested. My meal was luke warm. Very unlike Kincaid's.

We stopped in for a dinner before the Wild game. From the moment we walked in the restaurant, staff was very friendly and welcoming. Fresh bread was presented to our table even before our drink order was in. We ordered the Brie appetizer that was so delicious. For entrees we chose the Fresh Catch Walleye that was pan seared and a Wagyu steak. Both were incredibly delicious as were the potato & vegatable accompaniments. Everything was flavorful and we enjoyed our dining experience. We will certainly be returning to try more of their offerings.

Our server Ben was outstanding. Cocktails and wines were very good. Food was okay - the prime rib (rare) was surprisingly dry and the grilled fish prep needed more sauce. The gem salad and the vegetable melange and potato sides were good. Overall a pleasant experience and would return- just order something different.

This was a perfect fit for our group. Three of us were from New York, and two from MN. This place had the right blend of sophistication with midwestern sensibility. The food was great and the prices reasonable.

Our dinner, as always, was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. My only issue which is only minor is that the halibut was not available so our server recommended the seabass. All dinners came with risotto and a vegetable. When we looked at our bill, we were charged $4.00 for the risotto (I assumed it would be included with the seabass since that was a substitute. Since we were treating our guests, who one person also had the seabass, that also included a charge of $4.00. Also, a vegetable was not included. I also presented an Open Table $10.00 which they did not accept. I will deal with Open Table on that.

Not a good night at Kinkaid’s. We arrived at 5:05 for a 5:00PM dinner reservation for 2. We had tickets for Park Square Theater at 7:00PM. There was a special 3-course menu to which I was alerted by e-mail earlier today. Low, Restaurant Week type prices. It was not provided at the table. I had to ask for it. The restaurant very busy, but understaffed. Our server must have had a dozen tables. The servers were all moving very fast between tables. Initially service was very attentive. Drinks. Appetizer. We order our entree from the special 3-course menu. But after the soups/salad course, over 30 minutes elapsed. Where I was originally concerned we’d be served too soon, I had to stand up at the table to get the attention of another server. That server thankfully got ours to come by (he seemed to be laying low). By this time, our server had to be asked to check on our entree, which we eventually got at 6:30. We’d been at the restaurant for almost 90 minutes. We had to wolf down the entrees, which were fair to good. Then we had 5 minutes to take a bite of dessert and make our theater curtain. We complained to one of the hosts and he said, “Well, everybody arrived at the same time,” but apologized. Kinkaid’s has been our go-to Saint Paul restaurant for 15 years. Tonight was an aberration, but also a big disappointment.
