We’ve been to katsuya many times and we have found the food to be consistently excellent. This time we went late - post theater and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend Katsuya for late night dining.

Oh what a fun night!! My girlfriend and I came in before going dancing and we made sure to get everyone's name before we left so I could leave a review, which I almost never do! The vibe in the place was hot. There was a Dj making the place so vibey and the decorations were so cool & retro. Coda was the host that sat us and off the bat it was a hit, felt like I was being taken into a sexy speak easy. Felix was our server. We asked her for guidance and it turned out that she ended up selecting everything for us. Such a selection of flavors and textures. The crab roll was 5 stars! I didn't have to do any of the work, we just got to enjoy. Karina the manager came to make sure everything was going smoothly and dropped off our desert. Also must check out the bathroom!

My wife and I had the Tasting Menu and the Chef's Special Rolls (Crab rolls). The Sushi was outstanding. Our drinks were fantastic. The Service and ambiance was impeccable. We will definitely become regulars here.

Fantastic drinks, great sushi (corn crunch roll, spicy tuna were our faves)…rainbow roll was also good, katsuya roll and lemon salmon rolls weren’t my favorite (I thought they would be). Swanky cool vibes in hollywood, and very nice staff.

I must admit, I have never been to a high-end restaurant where they had no bottled water and no bottled sparkling water to serve its clients when they requested it because it’s a simple fix when I have discussed with the GM after if you don’t get your delivery of water. You send somebody to the market and you buy a couple cases of water to serve your clientele. I said because we drank tapwater which is fine, but we don’t drink tapwater. We were not having alcohol that night and we had no options to drink and when I raise this question, I got a shrug off. yeah well that’s a good idea. There’s a GM. You should’ve known that idea prior to you. Know it’s convenient to the Pantages, which is why we go there. Otherwise I would not be going there and after the way they dealt with the situation. That’s even worse sarcastically. I said hey I have time. I’ll go get a case of water for you for somebody else to have that itself ruined our dinner and when I went up to discuss it, it was not for us. We had our dinner was already gone and over, but I said you’ve got another full night because we finished dinner at 6:30 to go to the theater and they still had an accomplished that they still didn’t think it was important enough to go. Buy water. Well there are people that don’t drink alcohol and they drink bottled water and they drink bottled bubbly, water, Pellegrino, etc. and do not have that in a high restaurant is an excusable. When it’s an easy fix. You send somebody out to a store. plus how many caters are in LA if you don’t wanna spend the money have have somebody go to one of the other restaurants and pick up an extra case or two, and when you don’t get the delivery in the morning and you know you’re opening up that night. You have a full day to rectify the situation. Totally unacceptable.

Stopped in before seeing a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The server was quick to ask what time we needed to be out which I appreciated. We had the chefs tasting menu. All I can say is it was fantastic! I am third generation Japanese and the quality of the authenticity, presentation, freshness and taste was spectacular. Each course came out at a timely and measured pace. The Hokkaido scallops stand out as the best course with the wagyu and miso black cod next. I have been to this Katsuya in over 5 years and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend.

I went Katsuya for a little date night, but was disappointed by the food and service overall. We ordered 3 dishes. The fried rice and black cod were the most disappointed. The rice had cold chunks of white rice that were still clumped together. The entire dish was luke warm. The cod was full of oil, but didn't have much flavor. The tuna crispy rice seemed like it was prepared earlier, the rice was cold and not crispy. I expected the more attention and care to be put into the dishes. For the price you pay and how beautiful the interior is, I was hoping to have a great experience and have some delicious food, but sadly that didn't happen
