The food was exceptional and the service very efficient. Our table wasn’t the best and the final bill was a big one - but no complaints as the food was worth it

Love the food in Kai. It’s very family style Chinese food with great flavour. The main dishes are traditional, checking all the boxes in Chinese cuisine. The pastry chef has a modern twist, intertwining pastry techniques with exotic ingredients. Well put!

A great evening of delicious food. Service was good, with advice on the food and quick. Just a bit sad that some menu options had already run out by the time we ordered (20:00), which is not particularly late. Would still recommend and go again.

My wife and I dined at Kia around seven years ago, and we both agreed it was the best Chinese fusion restaurant in the area. So, we decided to return. The restaurant itself still maintains that upscale, chic atmosphere, with elegant décor and friendly staff. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu isn't extensive, and while the prices are incredibly high, we didn’t mind paying more based on our fond memories of the food. However, this time, the experience was quite different. Choosing starters was difficult due to the limited options. We went for the Prawns on Toast, Raw Beef in Soy, and the Open Bao Bun with Pork Belly. The portions were small, and none of the dishes had flavors that resembled anything distinctly Chinese, which was disappointing. We also ordered the crispy duck, which was decent, but the pancakes were stuck together—either understeamed or of poor quality, we couldn’t tell. For the main course, my wife ordered the Barnsley lamb chop, which turned out to be fatty and undercooked, with no hint of Asian influence. I opted for the Pork Belly, which was essentially a block of fat swimming in soy sauce. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée and the chocolate and hazelnut dish, which were both just okay. The bill came to just under £500. I've spent far less at Hakkasan and received a full tasting experience. This restaurant is certainly overestimating its value. We both agreed that we won’t be returning anytime soon.

The staff were great, the food was great, but they let the table behind us be on his phone the whole time, constantly ringing on loud and watching videos on speaker!!! Not acceptable in any restaurant especially a Michelin star!

This is definitely elevated and exceptional Chinese cuisine with a lovely wine list and top notch bar. The service is very professional yet warm and familial. The ambiance is eclectic and festive if a bit overdone it’s still beautiful. The prices reflect all of that however so I do believe you can find good Chinese food without the prices. If you are looking for a great experience and are not concerned with that then this is your place.
