Founded by Joso Spralja in the 1960′s, Joso’s restaurant has achieved continuous success of over 36 years in business and is considered a landmark of the Toronto hospitality scene. We always dine at Joso’s when we visit Toronto. The fish is outstanding, the service good (though it starts slowly), and the vibe energetic. The Rainbow salad was excellent, as was the spaghettini course that we had. The grilled calamari and mixed grill (clams, mussels, shrimp, in a white wine sauce with tomato) mains were outstanding. The restaurant is a delight and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Service was somewhat haphazard and a bit confusing. Would be good to explain that no server is dedicated to section or table. Food started to arrive before we had our wine. This was our first experience, was my girlfriend’s birthday and found the process a bit disappointing, servers when we did order were friendly and helpful.

The freshness of the fish is incredible. The tase was so clean and delicious!! wonderful people and very colourful vibe.

This is one of my favourite Toronto established restaurants; now owned and operated by second generation. The presentation of the seafood selection is unique and interactive , the atmosphere is lively and fun, no doubt supported by the interesting art! A transport to old world euro experience The service is attentive and friendly. All of us enjoyed our individual seafood selections: rockfish, grilled calamari, shrimp /clam/mussel . We shared the Nero risotto which was perfectly cooked and the taste beyond description. We also shared the djuvedj (ratatouille) and loved it. I started with the arugula salad and it was as if it had just been pulled from the garden- so fresh . Joso’s is as good as it ever was….still one of my favs .

We had a lovely birthday dinner celebration. The staff were attentive, food was fabulous, and it made for a special evening.

Dining at Joso’s is always a delightful experience; the seafood, fish and risotto dishes are some of the freshest and tastiest I’ve ever had at a restaurant; and the restaurant decor is truly unique. Overall a lovely evening celebrating a birthday.
