Beautiful place but we were disappointed in the cuisine. I’m sorry. Perfect location for the LBC…we appreciate that. With BBC s little creativity, the food could improve greatly.

I have had the pleasure of dining here on multiple occasions & wanted to treat my mother to a very special birthday dinner. We arrived & were greeted graciously & seated almost immediately. The ambiance is, as always, impeccable, the service lovely. My reason for rating as I have is this: Soup arrived cold, & tasted like it had spoiled. There was a drizzle of oil (very artistic & pretty), but the oil was ice cold, meaning when taking a spoonful, you encountered a chilled oily experience, as opposed to the hot, creamy texture of the soup as expected. I suspect the soup was made the day prior or even earlier in the day, then reheated, or it was platted long before my dining partners dish, giving it time to become cold. Additionally, the host (a gentleman) inquired how we were by referring to us as “girls.” My mother is over 70, & I, myself, am as expected, well past “girlhood.” In conclusion, I’ve come to expect better from John Ash regarding their menu, & the one infantilizing maitre’d. I don’t anticipate returning soon, but when I do, I’m hopeful these concerns will be faint memories.

Appetizer arrived before drinks (ordered first), had to ask waiter to take our order for main course (did he forget what we were there for?). Bill was wrong. Overall poor service for such an expensive meal. Don’t think we’ll go again.

Our server was outstanding! The hostess was not accommodating at all. We were there for an early dinner before a show at the LBC. We noticed the restaurant was relatively empty and asked if we could have a patio table. They said there was none available. We then asked to move to one table down and were told that was not available either. While we were eating dinner, another couple was seated next to us. They asked if a patio table was available. The hostess (different than ours) said he’d check and lo and behold, he moved them IMMEDIATELY to a patio table. It felt very disrespectful. It was also my husband’s birthday, so I felt embarrassed because I chose the restaurant. We will not dine here again.

This has been our traditional Sunday night dinner when we're in the Northern Sonoma area for wine tasting. We understand that the resort and restaurant have recently changed hands and there is a new chef and they are in a transition stage. The menu was reduced from what it had been previously. My wife and I both had the Caesar Salad and the shrimp and scallops. We are gluten free and it was one of the entrees that worked. It was very well prepared and seasoned and we enjoyed the dish. The restaurant was not as busy as in the past but that could have been that this was a different time of year. They seemed to be understaffed and service was pretty slow. For what we paid, we didn't come away as impressed, particularly in comparison to past visits.

Our Server Annie was fantastic! We love John Ash. The place, the food and the staff are fabulous. We were running 15 late so we called to let the front desk know. We were disconnected and we received a call back. Great customer service and follow up. We’ll be back again soon. We live in Petaluma! Limited menu but great choices. We heard about ownership changes but felt the ambiance, the service and the experience was still great as always.

Always one of our favorite places when we visit Healdsburg. Great and friendly service, incredible food and wonderful ambiance.
