Every time we come to New York, one of things we look forward to is dinner at Joe Allen! We always have the frites and steak and it is always superb! Our only disappointment this time was that the New York strip steak was not nearly as thick as it has been over the years. The flavor was still excellent and the frites perfect. The service is always excellent. Erin was friendly and efficient. We love the atmosphere, the ambience, and the food. Always a terrific experience!

I'll be honest, I was very disappointed when we were seated right in the entryway, even though the restaurant was empty. I saw walk-ins get better tables than I who waited faithfully until the clocked struck midnight a week ago to get this rez. We visit the city annually to see shows and go to museums, but never were able to get into the revered Joe Allen. I feel like this is still the case! When you take away the ambiance of an institution, you're left with overpriced and mediocre food and rushed service.

A theater district staple and icon! Great pre/post theater menu and always great service. The wall is filled with posters Broadway flops, which sets the tone. Star sightings are frequent and it’s a must-go stop on every trip to NYC. LOVE THIS PLACE!
