Dans le passé, Josef Sheekey faisait les marchés avec son stand de fruits de mer avant d'ouvrir un bar à huîtres sur St Martin's Court en 1896. Le restaurant a été rénové en 1998 pour renouer avec son glorieux passé, ses quatre chambres communicantes décorées avec des portraits originaux d'acteurs du 20ème siècle qui reflètent son rôle central dans le monde du théâtre. Acteurs comme spectateurs affluent ici pour les fruits de mer d'une fraîcheur immaculée et parfaitement préparés.

Back from Australia to our favourite spot in London and it did not disappoint ! A fresh crab salad followed by an iconic Dover Sole but I think it’s the excellent service that really sets it apart - courteous, efficient, seamless !

Love this restaurant! The food is always delicious (we had lobster and sole) and the service is wonderful. We were first seated next to a fairly loutish table and the position of the seats meant I looked at them rather than my husband. I spoke to someone and they immediately moved us to a corner table. Had a wonderful evening!

I’ve booked a couple of meals this week at high level and expensive restaurants via OpenTable. Whilst I appreciate the convenience of the app. I do wonder if the reception at restaurants just parks customers where it suits them and without any regard for the occasion. I’ve eaten in the restaurant equivalent of a crèche at Hawksmoor and J Sheekey.

Went for Fathers Day. Hubby wanted a fish feast. :) Service was excellent. Didn't love that we were sat near the serving station as it was quite noisy. Food was very good, yet def pricey. But we knew that going in. We enjoyed our meal and the excellent service, yet for the price I don't think we would go back. But it was a lovely fathers day meal. Happy hubby. :)

We had the Turbot special for two and it was very good. Couldn’t have been better. Great starter and everything very good.

We enjoyed a wonderful celebratory birthday lunch here. The ambience is cosy and classy with soft jazz playing in the background. The seafood was exceptional and the service impeccable. One thought for improvement; offer more potato options eg dauphinoise or parmentier. Chips are the only option on offer. We will return.

Everything is extremely well done: from greeting on arrival, to handing you your coat and briefcase when you leave. Impeccable service. A nice buzzy and fun place, but not too loud. The food is all delicious. Today, I can say that the gazpacho with crab, fish (haddock) and chips and delice ot Black Forest gateau-were all just perfect.
