Le J. Gilbert’s est un steakhouse chic et décontracté servant du bœuf maturé de qualité cuit sur un grill au feu de bois de mesquite. Vous dégusterez différentes pièces de steak, des fruits de mer frais (notamment des gâteaux de crabe primés) et d'autres mets faits maison comme des frites au fromage bleu Maytag et des velours au chocolat. My husband and I went here to celebrate his birthday. We both ordered the filet...his came out perfect. Mine was beyond over cooked. They took it back and said another would be out quickly. Almost 25 minutes later they brought the new steak. By this time my husband was finished with his meal. So I asked that they just box it up. It was very disappointing to say the least. The service was very slow, the manager who brought my steak out never even said a word to us. They did take my meal off the bill, but it was just a really disappointing experience as we were looking forward to a nice meal and date night out. When we got home to put the food in the refrigerator, the steak was literally half the size of the original one. I had high expectations of J Gilberts after many recommendations and reviews. Such a bummer of a meal and night out.

We both ordered the 12oz prime rib. Both of us were shocked at how salty the meat was. It was hard to finish the meal due to the salt content.

Came for our anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent as usual. The carrot cake is our absolute favorite and the perfect ending to our meal!

We went to J Gibert’s for our Anniversary and certainly was not disappointed with our evening. The restaurant had a lovely decor at the table and extra special wishes in a card for us. Our entire dinner was delicious especially the steak, outstanding. Our server, Meghan was a delight to have taken care of our every need. I am sure we will be returning to J Gilbert’s long before our next Anniversary.

Sadly this will be the last time we go to j Gilbert’s. We’ve been going to this location for events and special occasions for 10 years and this evening was just about the worst. The hostess could not speak or understand anything the waiter was slurring his speech and we could understand him. Eventually when we got our drinks the smoked old fashioned for $16 the drink barely touched the bottom of the ice there was no drink all ice! The food was also disappointing. For this cost I’ll go somewhere else. I’ll be unsubscribing to their emails! I suggest you don’t waste your time and money.

We always come here for a special birthday, holiday or anniversary dinner. This last dining experience delivered great food but the service was slower for some reason. Seemed like longer waits between first course and main course. Then even more lag time between being service coffee and then our dessert. Had to hunt down the server to get our check, and then he almost forgot the leftovers he had packed up for us. Possibly slow or lack of staff in the kitchen? We will never know, but a 6pm dinner took 2 hours. We will still come back -- pretty sure it was one off incident, but the food was still delicious (as were the leftovers).
