Le J. Gilbert's est un steakhouse chic et décontracté servant du bœuf faisandé cuit sur un gril au feu de bois de mesquite.     I would highly recommend Gilbert's for a great evening of food & quiet enough to enjoy friends and catch-up. The menu offers excellent choices, particularly steak and fish. Our waitress was superb.

    We always enjoy J Gilberts. We live close and go 3-4 times a year. Last night we went for Reataurant Week. We sat at the bar so we could watch the Chiefs game. I love their decaf coffee and my wife always enjoys a glass of wine. Even the bar is romantic. We enjoyed the Restaurant Week value of $55 set menu, choose 3 items. I always get the wedge salad and my wife gets the soup. I ordered a perfectly cooked 12 ounce sirloin and my wife got the lamb chops. For dessert, I got the cheesecake and she got the creme broulee. Everything was perfect.

    Requested a specific booth at 4 PM for a special birthday celebration. Taken to a different booth, we asked for another, then taken to an area where 2 large noisy groups were throwing surprise parties. We were ready to leave& were told servers for the area we had requested, don’t arrive before 5pm. WHY WASN’T THIS COMMUNICATED WHEN WE MADE THE RESERVATION?? We were finally seated & told we would receive a free appetizer for our inconvenience. The server, St. John, was excellent and the food was also. We have frequented JG’s over several decades and always for our special occasions. The front desk & mishandling of reservations & lack of customer is hurting this business. Offering a free dessert or appetizer is not going to save your reputation.

    Celebrated our wedding anniversary with a wonderful dinner. Also took in their special for Casey restaurant week. Wonderful ambience, the waiter was very informative as well as attentive, and food certainly did not disappoint! My husband and I both had the wedge salad. He had the KC strip steak and I had the crabcakes.

    What a wonderful meal! We went for restaurant week and ordered from that menu. Husband had house salad, that dressing was so good. I had the bisque….amazing. Filet was cooked perfectly, potatoes, yummy. We ended up with 3 desserts. The apple dessert with cinnamon ice cream, chocolate cake, and cheesecake. All were delicious but the apple dessert was my favorite. Our waiter Saint John was hands down the best! It was a perfect Anniversary dinner and absolutely will be back very soon! Thank you Saint John and J. Gilbert’s for making it amazing!
