Great seafood, get the oysters on a tower, the Bigger seafood tower is perfect for two hungry people.

Went for my birthday and got a little birthday surprise, candle and all. Mel our server was amazing!!

Food was amazing. The oysters, Japanese sweet potatoes, shishito peppers, octopus, bread and steamed clams. The service was terrible. The hostess forget to let us know our table was ready after our table wasn’t ready on time, they forgot to bring us our water, was told the oysters would take 35 minutes, so we said it was fine if the other food came first however we got all plates of food at once, including the oysters. No one came to clear any of the plates and we were never checked on.

The food was amazing, service was absolutely horrible. At one point our server argued with us saying we received 24 oysters when we had only received 12. Speaking of oysters, there were shell shavings in all of them. Pretty disappointing given this is their speciality. It took our server at least 10 minutes to greet us. Drinks took forever and the cocktails were mediocre at best. We sat outdoors and it was noisy and quite obnoxious being right next to the main road through Little Italy. We had to ask for our water to be refilled halfway through our meal. We had to ask at least 3 times different servers to remove our dirty plates. Our server left our table multiple times with free hands but couldn’t take our dirty plates with her. She also had an attitude anytime we asked her for something. If I was the owner of this place I would give the chef and kitchen staff a raise but fire the entire wait staff. No sense of urgency, and lousy customer service. And, not that it should matter but we live in downtown SD; we’re not tourists, and will not be coming back or recommending this place.

But hard to find 😆 can see sign in dark. But it was packed! Had to wait 20 mins past reservation time before seating. Food & service amazing! Above average for prices. Cocktails delish! Dark & stormy yummy. Huge portions could have downsized seafood platter. Entrees are generous sizes. All items were delicious. Recommend for a splurge night when you have time to sit multiple hours to enjoy.

The service was excellent. Better than on previous visits. The lobster a la plancha was spectacular! The Uni toast disappointed. The mayonnaise completely obliterated the uni flavor. Don’t bother with this unless you really like mayonnaise! We had the banana pudding for dessert which was mainly whipped cream and disappointing compared to previous visits.

This restaurant is extremely loud with staff slamming items around and the usual restaurant “loud talkers”. Literally had to yell to have a conversation.
