This is a beautiful restaurant. The food is innovative and delicious and the drinks are excellent. The menu is prefix with the nice possibility of forgo the dessert course and choosing an extra appetizer. The menu is very, very, very vegetarian friendly and allows for vegetarians and non-vegetarians to dine together easily and mix and match in a really delightful way. I made a fairly last-minute reservation because we were unexpectedly hosting an out-of-town guest and they accommodated us for a wonderful table. But I highly recommend reservations because it was pretty packed and the bartender told me it was a reasonably slow night. This is the third time that we’ve taken out of town guests to the restaurant and I recommend it for that if you’re in New Yorker. So many of our friends who live in other parts of the country have not had food like this. They love the Indian restaurants in their small towns and cities, but they have not had something like this that is conceptualized and innovative in a way that many of the more standard Indian restaurants in the United States. This is not a critique of those other restaurants. This place is just something very very special.

Indian Accent has got to be one of the best restaurants for having modern Indian food.

Very disappointed with this experience. Have been to IA several times and aghast at yesterday’s experience. My guest ordered a veg uthappam with wild mushroom & repeatedly mentioned not the lamb version and explicitly told the waiter/manager she does not eat meat. He repeated it has not meat but much to our disappointment was delivered the lamb version which she found out after tasting the first bite. If that was bad enough , the entire staff & manager who was informed seemed only mildly apologetic and treated it as a causal error. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I would have liked a more sincere apology and I guess people who eat meat don’t understand how unacceptable it is for a vegetarian to taste meat. Add insult to injury, the manager insisted on offering us free desert after we insisted we were over stuffed and still delivered it for no charge but no thank you we didn’t want to eat Sugar. Disappointed that after so many pleasant visits a restaurant of this so called ‘fame and class’ screwed up badly and didn’t think it was a big deal!!!!!

We were running late but they were kind enough to keep our reservation and keep the kitchen open too. Ameesha and Lokesh both managers were super helpful and kind. We had a great birthday celebration for our son thanks to them.

We were very excited to try this wonderful restaurant BUT very small portions left us hungry. And actually underwhelmed by our menu selections. Our fault since other diners tables appeared more ample and interesting than ours.

We had an excellent meal at IA. We got the 3 course prefixe. Every dish was delicious. The menu is a bit overwhelming at first but Brady helped us pick out the foods and told us of favorites. Really a wonderful experience. Wish we had time for dessert. The only negative is the wine pours are a bit short. I suggest getting a bottle. A great restaurant we will return to.

Quite a different menu from what we expected (we expected a traditional selection), but waiters took their time to explain. A novel experience, well worth it.
