This was a dinner for our 58th wedding anniversary. The service was impeccable and they made a big deal about our anniversary including bringing us a complimentary dessert. The bread basket was wonderful but the entrees were rather blah. We had the Saltimbocca alla Romana and the veal was actually tough and not very flavorful. My son had veal parmigiana which he said was rather blah. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiter was exceptional, but overall the meal was a big disappointment.

We made a visit to one of our Old Town Alexandria favorites on a Sunday evening. Jacqueline, our server was very pleasant, welcoming and gracious, and fun to speak to. Everything was delicious, and the Arancini Siciliani appetizer special was outstanding!

We loved it! Went there for Father’s Day. There was plenty of seating (available outside, 1st floor, or 2nd floor). We ordered calamari, which came with a delicious meat sauce for dipping. I got ravioli as my main meal in a cream sauce… so good! My daughter loved her spaghetti and meatballs (and she’s picky!). The only thing we didn’t agree on was the complementary bread. I loved the butter they served it with (sweet, with a hint of honey possibly). My partner would’ve preferred a more salty butter. But that’s just personal preference.

Our Saturday evening's dinner was very underwhelming. Partly because my Mom and I had lunch here on a random Thursday afternoon 3 weeks prior. We were 1 of the 2 tables...and the experience was incredible (food, service). Last night, however, was just disappointing. Service was slow, and the dining room wasn't crowded by any means. But, the food was the real let-down. Bland, lacked flavor, and it just seemed like they had the "C-team" in the kitchen. Which is weird given it was Saturday night. All in all, an unfortunate night to choose for a birthday dinner. My Mom and I really wished that Thursday afternoon experience could've been repeated for the whole family.

Absolutely perfect! Special occasion late lunch - service was phenomenal! (I think it was Jackie) She made us feel so welcome - even took great photos for us. Our daughter’s choice and it was the right one!

Not the best. Wouldn’t go back. Service was not great. Food came before drinks and bread. Order an appetizer that never came. Food quality was average.

Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our time at Il Porto in Old Town. The only two things that were slightly unsatisfactory were the warm temperature of the restaurant, and that the gnocchi was a bit soggy. Other than that, it was great! We will be coming back.
