We had the worst crab cakes on the eastern shore.

Our very first visit. Quaint. Charming. Exactly what you would expect at such a place in such a place. We shared the butter lettuce salad with fresh summer strawberries and feta cheese with sliced almonds, and a cup (though I imagine in the colder months one could make a meal out of a bowl) of the notorious cream of crab soup. We stayed with the delights from the sea with the Rock Fish and crab special and the BBQ salmon. Both were expertly prepared and arrived at our table piping hot from the kitchen. We enjoyed classically prepared hand crafted cocktails and one should also note they have a wide array of decadent martini offerings at a fair price ($13.50). Already looking forward to our return in the winter months ahead.

Dinner at the Tidewater Inn was very good. We did not consider other area restaurants due to weather conditions. Overall, OK.

Overall meal was quite good for both my husband and me. I had rockfish over risotto but the risotto seemed a little undercooked. The crab corn fritters were tasty and enough for us to share. My husband had the petite filet and it was done just as he likes it.

As usual, a visit to Hunter’s Tavern in Easton, Md. is always a culinary adventure. Our server Liam was fantastic and based on his recommendations, we ordered the daily specials as our main course. My wife enjoyed the Mexican Rockfish with Crab and Avocado and I had the throughly delicious 10 Oz. NY Strip with Crab Mac & Cheese. Afterwards, we enjoyed after dinner cocktails at the bar. Our bartender Sandra was knowledgeable and friendly. Her Sagamore Rye Manhattans and Old-fashioneds were a great ending to another 5-star dining experience at Hunters. A visit to Easton is not a visit unless you have Lunch, Dinner or Brunch at the Hunters Tavern.

Celebrated anniversary and requested a booth which was provided. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. My crab cakes were good and they were happy to substitute asparagus for succotash as I cannot have corn. The cream of crab soup was chunk full of crab and they served sherry on the side (which I really liked). Chocolate mousse dessert and a bottle of Presecco made for a lovely dinner.

We enjoy dining at Hunter’s Tavern , overall our food is always very good, however on this occasion soups could have been hotter, they were just warm and a side order of hash browns was cold. Could have been better.

We had a wonderful experience at Hunter’s Tavern. I enjoyed the crab cakes which were phenomenal paired with a delicious summer succotash. My husband, who is vegan, raved about the sweet potato “steak” dish that he said was the best vegan dish he’s ever had while dining out. The atmosphere was sophisticated but casual and our server, Dexter, made the evening super special with his attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend and we will be back!
