Bistro du Vin is at the heart of our hotel in Birmingham. Experience an elegant and informal setting for lunch and dinner - where guests can meet, celebrate or simply pass the time - at the classic, French-styled Bistro du Vin.

We like to keep things classic and simple at our Birmingham bistro. Inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes and slow-cooked foods, our Birmingham restaurant’s menu has an undeniably French/British flavour combination. It's about serving up dishes that rejoice the fresh and seasonal produce. It's about enjoying fairly-priced à la carte dining in a warm and relaxing setting.

All served by attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable waiting staff, happy to explain the dishes, the ingredients, and how our talented Chefs create them. Always on hand, your Sommelier is also ready to advise, guide, match or recommend the perfect wine.

cosy atmosphere. the dishes lacked flavour, which is a shame. the service was ok. the experience was therefore satisfactory but could be better with more tasty dishes.

Really nice meal, excellent Bordeaux by the glass, scallops and steak cooked to perfection. Only reason I give 4 stars is that the muscles were a bit gritty. Will definitely be back!

Good value, lovely setting, wine with tasting menu and explanation excellent but the food required a bit more attention.

I celebrated my birthday at Hotel du vin and I was very impressed with the service. It was a great evening and a source of future happy memories.

Open table messed up our booking! We booked via the app and drove for an hour and a half to get there - hotel du vin called us and explained the open table cock up - they were really good and gave us a free bottle of champagne and other drinks as an apology - first class response - we managed to eat elsewhere but will definitely go back to hotel du vin but probably book direct with them next time and not via open table

Booked new years eve table on opentable , was told booking wasnt valid as private event on even though I showed booking confirmation. New years eve ruined. Thanks so much

We booked Hotel du Vin via opentable for lunch on the 31st Dec, our 8th wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were told by staff that they were not taking bookings for lunch that day. My husband commented that as the venue used opentable as their booking agent, then surely they would have made sure they were aware that they were not taking bookings. The manager advised that this was not something they got involved in and that we should have called to confirm the booking. Why would we do this when we had a confirmation of the booking from opentable. Extremely disappointing service all round, especially on a day that’s very important to me and my husband.

Overall, we had a fantastic time. Very attentive staff, excellent sommelier and very good food too. Our only slight bugbear was there were a few long waits during our evening, particularly from receiving drinks to ordering our food. It was valentines though, so clearly it was going to be busy. Not that that takes anything away from how good the experience was, will definitely be back!
