   Food was delicious and so fun! Great melding of flavors. Service was excellent--very attentive. Made us so comfortable, like dining in someones home.

   The food was good, I have nothing bad to say about the meal. Only the value. The food was good, but not commensurate with the price.

   This is our "go to" place when we have tickets for the Keller. This dinner was awesome! The smoked oyster Risotto was amazing and the Belgian Fish stew was out of this world. The broth was unique made with a Belgian beer. Would love to know how to make this dish. Higgins is so reliable for great quality and service.

   Higgins is everything a Portland institution should be—seasonal, thoughtful, and grounded in a sense of place. I sat in the bar area and was warmly welcomed by Jill, who offered exceptional service throughout the night. Dinner began with a duck croquette that was easily one of the most memorable bites I’ve ever had—crispy exterior, delicate interior, perfectly seasoned, and accented with tarragon mustard and herbs. The main course, a pairing of braised local beef belly and Baja prawns, was beautifully balanced, with rich, comforting flavors over silky potato purée, broccoli, and turnip greens. Dessert was a butterscotch tart topped with ice cream—delightful. I also enjoyed a Bend Brewing Trade War Stout and the Tropic Pines IPA. Everything—from the presentation to the pacing—reflected quiet excellence and a respect for ingredients. Higgins feels like a conversation between the kitchen and the region: deeply rooted, elegant, and nourishing in every sense. A must-visit for anyone who values classic hospitality and Pacific Northwest cuisine.

   We’ve been going to Higgins for many many years. The food continues to be exemplary. The service in the bistro/bar could be improved but overall Higgins continues to be a wonderful classic Portland restaurant with excellent food.

   We have come a few times when we are in Portland. It was fabulous again. We had a vegetarian with us and there were options for her which she enjoyed. Great wait staff, great food. Will come back the next time we are in town.

   Dinner was superlative! The braised beef belly appetizer was one of the best things I have ever tasted. Joshua was a superb waiter, very knowledgeable and a winning personality. The dinner from cocktails and appetizers to desert was flawless. We have been coming to Higgens from Salem for 30 years and the quality of this restaurant has always been tip top. We highly recommend it for those who really care about food.

   My son and I had been having lunch in the Higgins Bar for years. Because his daughter was with us today, we ate in the restaurant. It was wonderful. Higgins is my favorite Portland restaurant.

    I realize that there are people who believe that other restaurants in Portland are better than Higgins. They are wrong.
