A very old school family restaurant on the main highway in ocean city. Food was mediocre as well as the service. I would go back again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Crab cakes - good Maryland crab soup - salty crab tasting broth laced with old bay and traces of crab. Cabbage was the only thing of substance in the soup. Corn - good Hush puppies- excellent I hope this helps. Overall, neutral on this place. I wouldn’t recommend it or advise against it. It probably fits into the same space of the many restaurants dotted along the strip in OC.

OpenTable is responsible for not updating our reservation at Higgins. We made a reservation an hour and a half ahead of time. When we got there, although OpenTable had “confirmed” the reservation, we were not on their list. Consequently we had to wait for a server for about 30 minutes, and that was only because we had to ask for one after 20 minutes of waiting. After that, once we had our server, Octavian, he turned things around for us. He was upbeat and friendly and the food and service were excellent as is usually the case at Higgins.

Excellent, huge soft crab tacos! And delicious, large portion of fish on the fish and chips! Highly recommend for the quality and value.

Best crabcakes around IMO. Playground is great for the kids, and the hush puppies they bring out are outstanding!

Crabs were really good some were lite. However a 26% increase in crab prices over last season is a little much. $75 a dozen last year for large and $95 a dozen this year I think is gouging. Wife had the fish and chips. She enjoyed that. Cream of crab soup was not that good. Creamy broth with very little crab meat.

Higgins Crab House is a great place to dine. The food was delicious and crabs were prepared perfectly!!! We will return on our next trip to Ocean City!!!
