Ce restaurant a obtenu les prix de gérant de bar de la Meilleure Nourriture en 2013 et 2014, ainsi que le prix de ''Bib Gourmand'' du Guide Michelin en 2013 et 2014. Sa cuisine ouverte à l'américaine sert des plats britanniques dans une atmosphère animée. Cet établissement possède un restaurant pouvant servir jusqu'à 150 couverts, un bar de 80 places ainsi qu'un café spécialisé au rez-de-chaussée ouvert toute la journée.

Consistency always at The Hermitage . Beautifully cooked and presented food . Very pleasant and accommodating staff .

We went for our anniversary and we had a lovely time! The place is really nice, the Sunday roast was delicious and the staff was welcoming and polite. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely Friday lunch, restaurant quiet at start but was getting busy when we left. Service was discrete but attentive. Menu varied, (didn’t choose from set menu), and food well prepared and offered value for money. Have not had a poor experience here, has always been a bit of a favourite.

Christine and myself dine out regularly. Over the last year or so ‘The Herm’ has unquestionably become our favourite restaurant in HItchin. The new management have transformed the restaurant and the whole team are brilliant. The service is excellent, really friendly and highly professional which pays tribute to the attentiveness to the training and coaching of the team. The standard is so high that to single out an individual team member would be unfair as we genuinely believe them all to be equally dedicated to the high bar they set themselves. The team are to be congratulated on their success.

A warm welcome and excellent service. Our waitress was efficient well presented and extremely helpful. The man on reception who also helped serve us was also friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our food and the menu had some good choices. The restaurant was clean and light and airy and we had a great lunch time with 3 of our teenage grandchildren.

We hadn't been for a while as moved away but it was the best food and service I've had in a very long while! Perfect steak

Although we had informed the hermitage that we were bringing a dog we were moved from our table in the dining area to the bar , we were told the service would be as good as in the dining area . It certainly was not, I ate in the dining area last week and the service was good . We did not object to eating in the bar but maybe this needs to be clarified when the hermitage is declared dog friendly. We just seem to wait a very long time to get water,drinks and desserts . A second dish of tempura courgette arrived well after we had finished the main course , we did say it was too late but it was just left on the table . Clearing dirty dishes away also took an extremely long time . All in all not a good experience especially as I had visitors over from Ireland
