Ouvert depuis octobre 2007 et occupant un site qui était autrefois une boucherie victorienne, le Hereford Road propose une cuisine britannique simple et novatrice. Tom Pemberton, l'ancien chef cuisinier du St. John Bread and Wine, utilise les meilleurs ingrédients du pays, selon les saisons. La provenance de la viande, du poisson et des légumes est au centre de ses préoccupations. Le Hereford Road vise à être un véritable restaurant de proximité dans le quartier résidentiel de Notting Hill Gate. Il vaut également le détour pour les personnes de l'extérieur qui apprécient une excellente cuisine. Le personnel amical et compétent présente le menu qui change tous les jours. Celui-ci met en valeur avec brio les produits britanniques, à des prix raisonnables.

Intelligent menu seems to change regularly. Uncomplicated ingredients sourced well and competently coupled. The food just had that confidence of coming from people who knew what they were doing. Fabulous lunch - very impressed.

Range of choice and high quality food has been a hallmark of Hereford Road since its inception. Favorites include quail when offered, any dish with lentils, any fish dish, and rice pudding. But we have never had a meal we did not enjoy thoroughly. Wine list is reasonable and varied.

I have been going to Hereford Road for some time now , both for work and personal events . Lately I have seen some negative comments made by “regulars” , however, personally it still hits the spot . I know some have said that the bench seating is looking a bit weary - but is that not a good thing? It indicates that a lot of people have previously passed through! On to the most important part - the food . In a few words , it is just top quality and great value for money .My guests last night concur . I started with the mackerel, potato and horseradish . It was just wonderful . Main was a beautifully cooked T -bone pork chop , soft and juicy . I finished with the rice pudding , a bit of a nod to my mother’s home cooking and school dinners , but it was so sweet , smooth and delicious . The accompanying wines were a beautiful St Veran and an unbelievably good Ribera del Douro . Both great value . As always, the service was equal in quality to the food . Will I go back - of course ! Service, quality of food. value and the pleasant neighbourhood restaurant feel that has not changed since opening is simply a top quality draw Well done as always Hereford Road!

Uninterested service, half the (small) menu out of stock, and lamb delicious but unable to cut as it was too raw to cut with the knife. So probably should have been cooked a bit more. Rice pudding dessert was also very average with the tiniest amount of jam.

A local gem of a restaurant serving delicious contemporary British cuisine at remarkable prices - particularly the 2/3 course set menus which we chose. A simple menu of well cooked food makes selection easy and wine by the glass was perfect for lunch. Quick and efficient service made dining a pleasure. The restaurant was also free from background music which allowed us to enjoy lunch and conversation - all too rare these days. We chose to dine opposite the chefs in comfortable banquet seating for two and tables are well spaced. Otherwise head towards the back and sit beneath the skylights. A pleasurable dining experience which we have no hesitation in recommending and would certainly return.
