    Such great ambience with the fireplace burning and all the plants. My gin basil drink was delicious as was my chorizo pizza. Our server Matt was so nice. He checked in on us and surprised us with a special dessert when he learned we were celebrating.

    The restaurant is really nice and the decor is beautiful. They have a great bar and the food was so tasty. Our waiter was very attentive.

    My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional! From start to finish, everything was a 10 out of 10. The ambiance, the service, and, of course, the food—all simply outstanding. A special shoutout to our amazing waiter, Mattie, who made our dinner truly top-tier with attentive and friendly service. Mattie’s recommendations were spot on. Mattie was a wonderful touch to our evening. I ordered the swordfish with carrots and roasted potatoes, and every bite was perfection. The swordfish was tender and flavorful, practically melting in my mouth, while the veggies were seasoned to perfection. We also started with the HAMACHI and the butter bread as appetizers—wow! That butter bread was a mind-blower. The kitchen here clearly knows what they’re doing. You can taste the skill and passion in every dish. I’m already looking forward to coming back, and the happy hour bar menu looks fantastic. Can’t wait to try it next time! This spot has easily become one of my new favorites. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

    Wow where do I start!! 12/10 recommend. I have been thinking about our dinner from last night all day! The whole ambiance was stellar. Just from the moment walking in I had a good feeling and it didn’t stop there. Our server, David, was the best!! So professional and knew his stuff. He walked us through drinks too. He truly made us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. We had ideas of what to get coming in but we took David’s suggestions. Did not disappoint — I was happy dancing about the food each bite!! Hands DOWN get the Hamachi and the Pork Secreto. So simple and SO GOOD. They had a great wine list and cocktails to choose from too. If you’re a mezcal drinker, get the mango drink. Not a huge mango fan but woah! It was amazing and made me want to drink my partners. It’s clarified and their bar program did a great job on the process. Cody, the general manager, was the best too!! He was helping out the team and checking in with folks too. I’m so impressed by the way both Cody and David made us feel as if the only guests in a busy restaurant. It really elevated our experience and also made us feel we could ask for anything. Long review but yes go — get the mango and mezcal drink, hamachi, pork secreto, have David be your server, and meet Cody! It’s one of my new favorite places in San Diego. Thanks Herb & Wood team for the best experience!

    The food and service were excellent, as always. We had the pork secreto and the swordfish which were both delicious. A parking structure across the street made parking convenient, which was previously a bit of an issue.

    We had a guest with celiac and he felt very cared for as the restaurant and our exceptional server Zach navigated the menu brilliantly. They even serve their foodie pizzas for celiacs! The hamachi is insane (we ordered a second round), crude as well as carrots were memorable. Huge ribeye special was a big hit.

    Brianna is so sweet and very personable, she knocked it out of the park for service, menu advice, and attentiveness. She is in nursing school, and will make a great nurse! Overall, food was good, like a 6.5 out of 10. Hamachi was a 10, pork belly a solid 9, Papperdelle maybe a 5, and Ibericho app special was a 6. Good people watching!
