Bourbon French toast 4.5/4 (4.5/4 in other words, it was better than I expected.) Our server was Taylor. She did an excellent job.

We’ve eaten at Haywood’s when we visit our son. It’s usually good. Last night was a miss. By a mile.

Food was really good and they did an outstanding job of accommodating 2 extra people that came with us last minute. It is our go to spot in Lexington!

Overpriced for the food. Expected a lot better food with flavor. All was not lost when the dessert finally came though! Hats off to the pastry chef for an exceptional chocolate torte and tiramisu!! Atmosphere was great though and the pianist was fantastic!

A very lovely and fabulous evening. The piano music set the perfect tone. The food was exceptional! Our party of four chose the spinach butternut soup which was unbelievable. All of our entries were exquisite and the drinks were fantastic. If I am ever back in Lexington, this will be our first stop!

We made reservations several months in advance for a busy weekend in Lexington. We often stay at their hotel and wanted to try their other restaurant. They did not let us know that they had a fixed menu in advance and at the time of making reservations, the menu had great options that everyone in our party would have liked. We arrived at time of reservations and were seated at a table right next to the kitchen which was very unsatisfactory for us as we were celebrating our time with our cadet over a nice meal and it was LOUD. My husband asked if we could be seated elsewhere and were told that we could only move to a different table IF we would be sure we were done by 7 p.m. because all of the "other" tables had reservations. Which, as I mentioned we also had. We all wanted a filet which was $79 on the menu with a fixed menu of a soup that was not good at all and we watched two patrons across from our table take their first bite, grimaced, and put down their spoons. The other options was a mixed green salad with no salad dressing options. Next course was mushroom risotto which my son would not eat nor would be a preferred course for our meal. The risotto was runny and we had no spoon at our table. My husband's filet was not medium rare more on the well done side. We noticed a couple having oysters as a beginning course which was not on the fixed menu but advertised apparently as a special on a board outside the restaurant. At no time did our waitress let us know that they were a special for the evening despite us asking if there were any specials for the evening. We would have loved to have had them but by the time she apologized for not letting us know, we were wrapping up our dinner. We paid the bill and sat for 15 minutes waiting for someone to pick up our bill. Very very disappointing.

Not so great with gluten free- looked at by some of the staff like we had three heads. No alternatives on the bread and then it was abruptly taken away when others at the table were eating bread. Also a few pescatarians at the table and salad had bacon which we didn't see listed - so use care there and ask. Rissotto okay but not great. Drinks were VERY good.

Always enjoy Haywood’s when we are visiting Lexington The piano’s in the dining though was a bit overpowering but quality music. Maybe 1/2 the volume!

Delicious prix fixe menu (perhaps a little more than I really wanted to eat, but no single-course option), live piano music, warm service, lovely setting. Great for a solo diner.
