Featuring classic Hawksmoor staples, such as 35-day dry aged Rump steak with gentleman’s relish, alongside new dishes like the irresistible charcoal chicken Ana Mari or Chalk stream trout – you can then pick your favourite salad sidekick from a line-up of Hawksmoor Caesar, Heritage tomatoes, English lettuce & herb or Bitter leaf, blue cheese & pecan. Requested 300g fillet steak medium-rare but it was served medium to well done if not fully well done. Ultimately it got refunded without any argument as it was clear to see but eitherway disappointing as it removed all the flavour and juiciness.

The Hawksmore restaurant came highly recommended to me and my partner. We travelled from West Yorkshire to Manchester for her Birthday an to experience what we had been told The actual reception area and welcome from the staff was very good and we found that the staff at every stage were excellent all night. The ambience of the place is very good if not a little dark in the bar area. In the restaurant there is full of life and lighter. There was a nice feel about that area and not over noisy either. Again as stated above the service from the staff was knowledgeable, informative, polite and friendly. STEAKS Where I feel the experience was let down was in the food and specifically the steaks. The Fillet Steak at £46 and the sirloin at £44 were both ordered medium rare. when served the inside of the steak when cut had a pink (medium) appearance and not over red or bloody. The outside of the steak was in my opinion where the whole experience was let down. I felt the steaks were over seared (cooked) and gave the effect of a chewy/tough meat. The fillet should never have that texture or feel in the mouth, and for that matter neither should the sirloin. STARTER For our starters we enjoyed the oyster (Vietnamese) and the carpaccio both of which were excellent. SIDES To accompany the steak we had a peppercorn sauce, spinach, beef dripping chips and mushrooms all of which were very good and enjoyed. Although the sauce should be offered as complimentary with the cost of the steak. In total we spent £227, for that price I expected a perfectly cooked steak with an understanding of the cut and preparation. We would not go back based on that alone, neither my partner or myself are prolific moaners but both felt the same about the steaks. Overall what we thought would be a 5 star dining experience was in reality barely a 3 ANDY

Our favourite place. Amazing service and very accommodating to last minute booking changes. It was a little bit loud , but mainly due to being packed , so can't complain . Keep doing what you're doing . Thanks

We had a really nice evening and were well looked after by the staff. Our starters were superb as was my main course of fillet steak but my wifes fish choice was average. Overall a good ,if a little pricey, experience.

Waiter just opened new water bottle without asking . We were in a conversation and waiter filled our half full Glases with a new bottle without asking if we want a new bottle . Tip was already included with 15 Pound in the bill. Ridiculous would never paid this

We visited Hawksmoor Manchester on Tuesday 23rd for dinner. This was a meal that we’d been really looking forward to as our last visit was fantastic. On ordering our food with the waitress I ordered a rump steak and my wife ordered a ribeye steak both with several sides. The waitress then came back to inform my wife that all the small ribeye steaks had sold out and was offered one of the larger ribeye steaks that you have to pay per 100g meaning that steak alone was nearly £60. When the food was served my wife noticed straightaway that her steak wasn’t a ribeye and in her opinion it was a sirloin. At this point we called over the waitress and explained our observations and she then checked with the chef. On her return she said the chef had confirmed it was a ribeye, my wife stands by her call on what she was served and she has had 16 years in restaurant management so is confident on what she experienced. The waitress agreed to switch out the ribeye for a fillet steak which she then had to wait for getting cooked. When it did get served it was clearly not cooked right and was dry and unappetising plus they then forgot to serve the sides that had been ordered with that meal. Whilst all this was going on I ate my meal on my own which to be honest can only be described as the toughest piece of meat I’ve had in a long time either that or the steak knives can’t cut through anything. On receiving our bill the restaurant kindly only charged us for our drinks and offered to cover the cost of a meal for two next time we are in the city. The only problem with that is for us a visit to the city comes around infrequently and comes with all the associated costs when you live miles away from the city. To sum up our experience very disappointing from a specialty steak restaurant which it would seem really struggled to serve up the one thing that they should be really good at.
