Welcome to Hart House, one of the lower mainland's finest dining experiences. Built in 1910, the locally renowned Tudor style heritage house is situated on two acres of gardens on Deer Lake. This idyllic country estate, is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
BC Restaurant Hall of Fame Proprietor and restaurateur Paul Smolen transformed the 'family home' into a restaurant in 1989.
Since then, Hart House has opened its doors to countless dining guests, newlyweds and corporate clients; offering culinary excellence, a well stocked wine cellar and friendly professional service.
Hart House has been inducted into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame in October of 2014.

    Beautiful setting and patio. Great view of deer lake and gardens. Service was very good. Perfect balance of professional and friendly. They did not get my guest's order right but corrected it immediately when she pointed it out. They did not make us feel rushed and every interaction was done with a smile. There was a rat that ran around the tables outside after dusk and was quite bold. It didn't come up to our table, just the empty ones. It wasn't very busy on a weeknight and this is one of my favourite restaurants with a unique warm ambiance and good food. rat aside, the patio is really quite lovely with warm lighting and you feel like youre outside the city with the gardens.

    Lovely Sunday Brunch on the patio overlooking the lake. Wine was delicious, coffee and water refilled pronto. Menu was interesting and diverse. The chicken and waffles was best we’d ever had. It’s always a treat to dine at The Hart House. They really do have heart.

    This is an absolute gem! The service is impeccable (they are so kind), the food is stellar, and the ambiance is second to none. I wanted my mom to have a special night since she's coming to visit me, and she rrely gets a chance to get away, so this Hart House was perfect!!

    We recently had lunch at Hart House and were treated to a wonderful meal which was enhanced by excellent service. This is definitely Burnaby’s best restaurant. I will be going again and highly recommend it to one looking for great food and exceptional service. Love the free parking as well!

    Fantastic food, great service and beautiful place. Would definitely go back. Not sure if the air conditioning was down but it can feel a little warm but other than that everything was exemplary.

    Our dining experience at Hart House was exceptional. Six of us enjoyed the peaceful, scenic ambience on the patio. The food was delicious, especially the seafood spaghettini and the duck. Our server was excellent; friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A great way to celebrate a special anniversary.

    Beautiful park setting in a lovely stately heritage home. Our lunch included excellent, perfectly prepared halibut, and a very nice salad to start. We hosted three others, making it a party of 5. Our guests were very discerning, well travelled diners, and we all noted the excellent service by Sonia - not intrusive but there at the exact right time. The table was comfortable and the room was quiet, which was a treat. We lingered and enjoyed a delicious meal! I highly recommend it.
