Welcome to Hart House, one of the lower mainland's finest dining experiences. Built in 1910, the locally renowned Tudor style heritage house is situated on two acres of gardens on Deer Lake. This idyllic country estate, is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
BC Restaurant Hall of Fame Proprietor and restaurateur Paul Smolen transformed the 'family home' into a restaurant in 1989.
Since then, Hart House has opened its doors to countless dining guests, newlyweds and corporate clients; offering culinary excellence, a well stocked wine cellar and friendly professional service.
Hart House has been inducted into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame in October of 2014.

    We were warmly greeted upon entry and promptly seated. Server was attentive and made sure our orders went as planned. Menu items were modern and creative. Food quality was good. Drink selection had great variety. We liked the ambiance of dining in a mansion which used to be someone's home. Great experience overall!

    A fine lunch for all four in our group. Service was impecable. Food was excellent and the whole experience well worth the expense. On a sunny day this is a great destination and on a wet day it is a comfort with all the fireplaces lit.

    Excellent fine dining in Burnaby. One of a few local restaurants other than Vancouver that offer great fine dining. Beautiful location.

    The Hart House is a great place to eat and celebrate special occasions. The ambience is wonderful; the building and setting are beautiful. Only suggestion I would add is to put more lunch items on the brunch menu.

    My 2 friends and I just had lunch at the Hart House. I have been there many times before and had my daughter's wedding there. It's always been one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, lunch today did not meet my expectations. We three, had the Avocado, shrimp salad. The shrimp was flat, just came from some frozen state, the salad was a lump with very little dressing. Not a meal to remember or recommend. I should have mentioned it while we were there but, didn't want t to make my friends feel uncomfortable. Hopefully, this was a onetime occurrence. The service was very good and always a beautiful spot on a sunny day.

    Lovely Saturday brunch with friends. Chicken and waffles were sensational. Building foyer and furniture looking a little tired and could use some updating. But gorgeous views, delightful service, and really good food.
