Welcome to Hart House, one of the lower mainland's finest dining experiences. Built in 1910, the locally renowned Tudor style heritage house is situated on two acres of gardens on Deer Lake. This idyllic country estate, is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
BC Restaurant Hall of Fame Proprietor and restaurateur Paul Smolen transformed the 'family home' into a restaurant in 1989.
Since then, Hart House has opened its doors to countless dining guests, newlyweds and corporate clients; offering culinary excellence, a well stocked wine cellar and friendly professional service.
Hart House has been inducted into the Burnaby Business Hall of Fame in October of 2014.

    My daughter and I had a wonderful luncheon! The service and the food was beyond expectations. Beautiful Ambience! Compliments to the Chef and Service providers. Love love Will be back. Extra thanks to Sam!

    Birthday lunch for my sister-in-law. We both had the Seafood Pot Pie which was absolutely delicious. For dessert we shared the ciitrus pavlova which was perfect. They added a birthday candle and wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate. A nice touch. Service was excellent. It wasn’t too busy so it was quiet. We could actually have a conversation without raising our voices. This is becoming a rare thing in local restaurants. Very relaxed. It feels special in this historic house with white tablecloths and napkins, lovely outlooks. Perfect for a special occasion or just for lunch or dinner out with family or friends. Highly recommend!

    Excellent choice for a 70th birthday celebration for our sister-in-law. Menu included some new dishes which were very good. Our server Kiara was very attentive and helpful. Definitely will be back.

    6 people for dinner took over 3 hours and there were only 2 other tables with guests. Food was generic and overpriced. Beautiful location and nice wine selection.

Typically, our dinner service is paced around two hours, but sometimes, with cocktails, wine, special coffees, and a three-course meal, this can sometimes extend as in your case. Especially as we strive to ensure a relaxed, unhurried experience. Our service style also includes waiting until all guests have finished before clearing, as we prioritize each diner’s pace.     Alovely place for a quiet, elegant and delicious lunch. The mushroom risotto and the avocado prawn salad were just right. The room has a calm and elegant feel

    The restaurant has retained its warm ambiance since we had our wedding reception there 28 years ago. The food & service were excellent. We had a very enjoyable evening and look forward to being back again soon.

    Delicious food and drinks and excellent service on our anniversary. This was the first time we had been to dinner here as the only other time we had been at the Hart House as for a wedding. Highly recommend!
