Hamiltons of Stockbridge is a multi award winning, relaxed environment where the carefully sourced menu changes with the seasons and drinks are a well-chosen blend of beautiful wines and modern standards with a subtle twist. Hamiltons maintains a comprehensive selection of beers spanning all the local favourites as well as an carefully selected cocktail menu including unique creations such as the Rum and Raisin milk punch. The food menu is an ever-changing experience that includes popular items. Hamiltons can be found at 16-18 Hamilton Place, near to The Water of Leith and Edinburghs New Town, a short walk from Jubilee Garden and around 10 minutes by bus to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Hamiltons was created with locals in mind, but welcomes everyone and prides itself on its friendly staff and warm atmosphere. We are also a dog friendly venue with the exception of the raised restaurant area. We also welcome U18's until 8pm.

I like Hamiltons and have visited there many times over the years. I went earlier this week. Surprisingly quiet for festival time. Service was great from a lovely lady who was very helpful. The food was average. I had the steak sandwich which was OK. But the food took ages to be served. Really slow. Disappointing.

Pretty poor experience. After being shown to our table and ordering our first drink, we had to go looking for staff to order wine. We ordered a burger and some salads. The brioche bun was stale, the burger dry. The chicken salad was lovely. The black pudding and walnut salad; the black pudding was dry and tasteless. This place has really gone downhill.

Food was the best in our stay in Edinburgh!!! Staff were extremely friendly. Highly recommended by our group of 10.

The staff are friendly and very helpful in the restaurant. Our we bought the soup and mussels for our starters. Unfortunately the Mussels didn't taste fresh so didn't eat them. The staff said sorry but still charged. However the main course (fish/sea bass) tasted great, fresh and good value for money. It's a nice place, music in the background and lively. I would try again.

When we entered the restaurant the noise was overwhelming. A party of about 12 partying very energetically in the restaurant. Unfortunately our table was beside them making conversation very difficult. The starters were excellent and the fish and chips was too. Unfortunately the lamb looked good but had a lot of sinews in it which made it difficult to enjoy. Champagne good.
