We really had high expectations for dinner - it has been mentioned multiple times as a great place for a steak dinner. I wish we could agree…after having been there we’d never go back. Noisy. Wine was frightfully expensive. $150 for Prisoner Red Blend??? The server was intent upon talking about himself. Our steak was undercooked - we waited 10 minutes before sending back with the water server. Our own server was at another table…talking. And then they automatically add 20% for tip. There are only so many characters allowed for this review… suffice it to say “never again”, and we look forward to our next visit… to Bones.

Hal’s never disappoints!! Phillip took care of us and our experience was too tier. The food was perfect. It was our 22nd wedding anniversary and they had a fine dessert ready for us after our meal. Thank you to everyone at Hal’s!

Our server, Jim, was awesome. Made our friends' first-time experience absolutely amazing. The food was great as always.

Thursday evening--the night of Hurricane Helene's rain--my wife got the urge to go out to dinner. We ate early and Hal's was empty at 5:30. But we had a great dinner. We were charmed by a waiter new to us, Josef. Josef has an unusual resume for a fine-dining waiter. He had a 32-year career working on cruise ships. He has two daughters who live in Canada and have professional careers. Truly a fascinating man. Josef is from Turkey, and his service style has subtle European formality. You will be in for a treat if you are paired with Josef on your next visit to Hal's.

Hals is the best Steakhouse experience certainly in Atlanta, but I would argue anywhere. The food is fantastic as well as the service. It has a cool New York vibe, and you never know who you will run into. We always end the night with time and signing at the piano making great memories.

We used to love house. hadn’t been there in a good bit and went last night for my husband’s birthday. Arrived 35 minutes before our reservation to have a drink at the bar and while we were sitting there, a gentleman came over and told us our table was ready. Asked him if we could have a few minutes to continue having our drink at the bar and he said, “ Well I can’t guarantee that your table will still be there for you then”. This was my first part of the dissatisfaction… I’m pretty sure they give you a 15 minute grace. From the time your reservation starts so why would he say that? We went ahead and followed him upstairs to our table. A friend suggested we ask for a friend of his who is a server and that gentleman area was totally full, which is understandable. Anyway, we got a very young unseasoned server. We asked to see the wine list, and immediately, he jumped into the conversation asking us if we like Quintessa Cabernet. We told him that we love it so he said might I recommend that for you? Well, it was $500 a bottle, and then we saw the note on the menu that said an automatic 20% tip is automatically added to everything including wine G, do you think that’s why this very young unseasoned waiter suggested the most expensive bottle on the list! Moving onto the service during our meal… My husband wasn’t even completely done with his shrimp cocktail nor was I done with my salad when someone came by asking if he could clear the plates for us and we obviously said no. Our waiter was not very attentive through the entire experience. I have to say, the whole thing was a huge disappointment. Underwhelmed with the whole experience to say the least.

We had a great time. Miguel our waiter was excellent. I was a little put off by the lack of enforcement of the dress code. I observed patrons in sweats, jeans, shorts? I may as well dine at my gym.

Hal’s was amazing! The steaks are always perfection. The staff in super consistent. I tried the lobster tail and creamed spinach tonight and they both were absolutely amazing. I had the lobster chargrilled and I’m glad I chose that one based on the waiters suggestion. The sparking rose was also amazing. We were celebrating a dear friend’s birthday and they even brought a complimentary dessert. It was a great time.
