Opened in November 2010, Hakkasan Mayfair is the second London edition to the acclaimed Hakkasan brand. Innovatively created cocktails and a unique wine list, are combined with carefully chosen dim sum and Chinese dishes that are ever changing, dynamic and new. The result is authentic Cantonese cooking with a contemporary flare – at once subtle and thrilling - and all made with the best ingredients. Hakkasan Mayfair is set over two floors. The lower ground floor invites the guest to the traditional Hakkasan setting, surrounded by intricate wooden screens allowing intimate dining, whilst, the ground floor brings a combination of relaxed atmosphere and a vibrant bar encouraging guests to indulge in an inspired environment. I have eaten In Hassakan several times and usually enjoy it . New Year’s Eve was a terrible experience. The set menu was not crowd pleasing. Welcome cocktail was nit good either and took 30 mins to arrive . Food then came very quickly and altogether leaving no space on the table its was all too much and a turnoff . Many tables had this experience. We were also told we need to vacate the table by 11.30 for another reservation which of course could not happen as the awful desert had not arrived by then . 1 out of 5 of us ate the desert as it was very disappointing .

As always, great food and ambience. The DJ for NYE played some fantastic tunes. The guests were varied from young families, older couples and glamorous youngsters. Our waiter in particular was very helpful and polite and helped us get the à la carte order spot on, particularly for my wife who is vegetarian.

Unfortunately Hakkasan is still coming up as a Michelin starred restaurant but it’s not, they lost their star. We booked it because we wanted an evening of fine dining because it was a very special meal for us but instead it seems to have turned into a family restaurant with lots of noise and hubbub. we had a couple of overpriced cocktails but declined to eat

Food was amazing but the service just average which was a shame....if you put the staff from Yauatcha Soho it would be the best restaurant in Mayfair!

The food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend the place. The dim sum was amazing. The drinks were great with very nice presentation. We will be back.

Great dinner and food, service impeccable- but perhaps lacking a slightly warmer touch, in a very busy/trendy atmosphere.

Outstanding food and drink undermined by poor service (not including the hostess who greeted us; she was lovely and welcoming). We had 3 different waiters and orders were forgotten and/or slow. And the coat check person clearly didn’t want to be there as she slung our coats straight over the counter and onto the floor.
