                              Good food but very over priced even for York. Wine was open when it arrived, absolute no-no for a restaurant.

                              I had high expectations. The food when it finally arrived was mediocre at best. Certainly not worth the price tag. The real disappointing thing was the lack of communication. Order was taken promptly, no one mentioned the kitchen was busy and the order would take a long time. Food took nearly an hour to arrive and even then didn’t arrive all at once. The waitress needed training, clearing empty plates when one person was still eating, like she trained in a canteen. Spoke with manager just to highlight the problems, I hope to return in September to see if it’s improving, as the place has bucket loads of potential, just no passion

                              Absolutely delicious meals, great atmosphere, exquisite location just by the Minster cathedral, warm welcome and perfect service. Would definitely recommend it 👍

                              Lovely. We had the steak pie, served with mashed potatoes and gravy with mushrooms. It arrived very hot and tasty. We also had the stewed carrots. I'm normally not a fan of cooked carrots, but these were very nice. I would definitely go back!

                              Absolutely lovely place. The interior and decor is exquisite. Food was fantastic value and quality and the service deserves a special mention. I can’t remember the names of the team members who were waitressing but they were both superb. Highly recommended and I would definitely go back.

                              We both really enjoyed our dinners here. The menu was varied, the server was helpful, and the food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. We will definitely be back when we are back in York in a few months.

                              I would like to enquire about your service charge and is it both applied to food and drink ? We weren’t aware of the pub now adding a service charge. We believe there was a 20% service charge added to our bill, I would like you to look at our bill and give a response back. The food and drinks we ordered totalled around £118 and we paid £140.34 in total. This is a 20% service charge. Is this right ? I would appreciate a reply on this matter. Kind regards Gaynor Rea
