The cheese board and chocolate torte was fabulous. The service was lovely, and the setting was cozy and intimate. Lovely place for drinks and dessert to end date night!

We really wanted this to be a great experience. Unfortunately, there were many issues. I will start by saying that the food was pretty average, not including the crab dip, that was delicious. The drinks from the bar were also incredibly delicious. Our main issue was with the service. We were in the restaurant for a table of 2 (with a reservation) for over two hours. We were seated immediately, but the service from our server was incredibly bad and lowkey offensive. She took 15 minutes to even come take our apps and drink order. By the time those arrived, she had still not taken our entree order. To order our entrees, we had to ask her to come over and speak with us. Then, our entrees took over 25 minutes and when she brought us the meals, the plates were very hot, which we all know that means it had been sitting in the window, waiting for our server to run it to our table. Then, she did not check on us once. We had to call her over for any additional sides and we had to call her over to request for the check/to-go boxes. Even just to call her over for the check/to-go boxes, it took us another 25 minutes to flag her down. Halfway through our 2.25 hours, a table of six were seated near us. They were served (drinks, apps, entrees), paid and left before we left the restaurant, meaning their service was incredibly better than ours lol. For a restaurant that requires fanciness and business casual from its patrons, I would expect the same thing from its service.

Love the ambiance and experience from needing password to enter the lightning. The bartender drinks was very thoughtful and amazing. Will definitely be back soon

The drinks and food were good, but the service was just okay. The waitress did not seem happy to be there and I truly think a "speakeasy" vibe place should be a full experience.

Great place to take our child who turned 21 for her birthday. The food and the cocktails were delicious and fun. Watch your step entering the bar/restaurant.

Our service was terrible. We were waiting 20+ minutes to get drinks. We could see the bar and our drinks were made and just sitting there for a stupid amount of time. Our server was rude, rolled her eyes at us, and walked away in the middle of us ordering. She never asked if we wanted refills, we had to ask her and then it took forever. We have been to this restaurant multiple times for girls night and we have always loved it. Service really does matter, this put a bad taste in our mouth and we will be looking for another place for girls night. Perhaps the service has gone downhill. Our server was CHY on the ticket, we never got her name.

I don't know if you used your eyes the 3.5 hours you were in that booth but we were at capacity for most of the night. As such the THREE bartenders were doing their best to craft cocktails for over 200 people yesterday evening. So yes, drinks were a little slow, not your server's fault. Maybe they could have been quicker, maybe they had 30 other people they were waiting on? I've never seen someone have such a terrible time, but stay for over 3 hours. The note one of you left on the receipt was very mature. I could understand naming the server in the private note, but the public one that everyone on the internet can now read? Maybe you were never taught to treat other people the way you'd like to be treated, or perhaps your manners have gone downhill.

G&S started out great - they had the perfect speakeasy vibe, with the hostesses playing the gatekeeper part in a fun way, staff dressed up in authentic 1930’s garb, and they took full advantage of creating an experience. Not any more. During our last visit the hostess was completely disinterested in us, she was actually eating dinner at the hostess stand and seemed almost irritated at our arrival. The “hidden door” was standing wide open. Inside, the waitresses had sorta cool outfits but made no effort to play the part. Meanwhile, long haired dude from the kitchen wearing baggy filthy tee shirt and a stocking cap was wandering the dining room. Service was disjointed, drinks were tiny, and food was just okay. The place now has a vibe of just one notch above a grunge bar. We used to like to bring out of town guests here, but no more. Without the speakeasy experience it’s just another semi-sketchy bar on Main Street
