With the intent to respect the environment and promote environmentally sustainable practices, Glen Prairie Fine Food & Drink (1250 Roosevelt Rd., Glen Ellyn, Ill.), is a local farm sourced fine dining restaurant with contemporary American cuisine. The cuisine emphasizes hearty meat, pasta and seasonal dishes utilizing meats, poultry and produce farmed locally or from across the country from farms practicing sustainable farming methods and celebrates the joys of artisanal cooking. Even the takeout containers are compostable and made from sugarcane rather than petroleum based plastics.

Glen Prairie’s menu is designed to emphasize seasonal ingredients to showcase a variety of American flavors. The restaurant team shops local farmers' markets several times a week to source fresh ingredients.

Incredible as always! The BEST Gluten Free options to offer. We had the firecracker shrimp as an app. My husband had the fish and chips - he said they were perfectly cooked and seasoned, some of the best fries he has had! I usually will get the fish and chips - prepared gluten free for me, however, I was drawn to one of the specials - I ordered the Halibut over Sweet Pea risotto - Delicious! NEVER disappointed at Glen Prairie! Keep it coming!

First time here. Great service, reasonable prices, and offered a number of gluten-free options which were necessary for our party. Very enjoyable meal, great server Kat

We had reservations here, heard how great this place was. We got drinks ($22) for 2 drinks. Then waited and waited, poor service, not too many people dining here so no need for the poor service. We paid for the drinks and left. Can't say anything about the food, oh yes, the bread was warm and good.

When I come in town to see family I make a point to enjoy a dinner here. The food and service are exceptional and the gf accommodation of food is much appreciated. The ambiance is nice and even if there's a large party in the restaurant it doesn't make the restaurant loud. A hidden gem !

We recently enjoyed a family member's birthday dinner at Glen Prairie. Several of us had a delicious pasta special. There were very positive reactions to the trout and burger also. Glen Prairie is always nice because you are never rushed, the food is delicious and the service is great.

Had the pulled pork Mac and cheese and all I could taste in the pulled pork bbq sauce was mustard, no other flavor, the Mac and cheese was phenomenal though

Our dinner was outstanding and plated beautifully. I think that the bread is a little crusty. The table and chairs are very comfortable. We were there on a Wednesday early so it was quiet but we've been there in the weekend and does get louder. Our waitress was pleasant and on top of things. Parking can be tight. I think anybody that goes here will be Happy with the menu and choices, great value and a pleasant atmosphere.
