With the intent to respect the environment and promote environmentally sustainable practices, Glen Prairie Fine Food & Drink (1250 Roosevelt Rd., Glen Ellyn, Ill.), is a local farm sourced fine dining restaurant with contemporary American cuisine. The cuisine emphasizes hearty meat, pasta and seasonal dishes utilizing meats, poultry and produce farmed locally or from across the country from farms practicing sustainable farming methods and celebrates the joys of artisanal cooking. Even the takeout containers are compostable and made from sugarcane rather than petroleum based plastics.

Glen Prairie’s menu is designed to emphasize seasonal ingredients to showcase a variety of American flavors. The restaurant team shops local farmers' markets several times a week to source fresh ingredients.

My book club met today at Glen Prairie. The atmosphere is perfect for a group to meet up and visit. Everyone enjoyed the food.

The gluten free options are fantastic - fish & chips, pasta, many appetizers. It is incredible! The food is delicious- you cannot tell it is gluten free. This place is probably my favorite gf restaurant in the area. It is higher priced but great place for special occasions.

Never had a bad meal here. Excellent and timely service, pleasant server, and best of all, you can hear a conversation. Two thumbs up.

We had a very average dining experience this time. The food was excellent as always but our service was very average and the noise level was terrible.

Truly some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. It took nearly 3 hours for our meal and an hour and a half for our food to come. The dining room staff were not apologetic in the least. Lots of excuses that made no sense. Our server barely checked on us or provided any updates on the meal taking so long. Had to hunt people down to ask for things. The food was good but some meals came out cold. Definitely don’t think we will be back. It was disappointing service to get while celebrating a milestone 85th birthday.

We were looking for a restaurant equidistant from Geneva/Lake Forest. The reviews were good so we booked for a Saturday night. Very quiet (maybe due to Labor Day Weekend), the service was outstanding, food was solid (caramelized flatbread was amazing). Prices were extremely reasonable including mixed drinks.

This was our third visit to Glen Praire. We love the food and service and have never been disappointed. We had the Mac and cheese and the salmon this time. Both were done uniquely and are among our favorites. The wait staff is always attentive. We look forward to many future visits.

Our appetizer was wrapped by another service member because there was no room to put our dinners on the table. Although I had asked our waitress to put it in a box. She told me to wait. My drink was empty before my dinner was served. She never came back to ask if I wanted another cocktail. Our food was delivered by someone else and never once Did our waitress come to the table to ask us if our food was OK fortunately it was. She finally showed up with the check It would’ve been a very nice enjoyable dinner if we hadn’t received such poor service
