With the intent to respect the environment and promote environmentally sustainable practices, Glen Prairie Fine Food & Drink (1250 Roosevelt Rd., Glen Ellyn, Ill.), is a local farm sourced fine dining restaurant with contemporary American cuisine. The cuisine emphasizes hearty meat, pasta and seasonal dishes utilizing meats, poultry and produce farmed locally or from across the country from farms practicing sustainable farming methods and celebrates the joys of artisanal cooking. Even the takeout containers are compostable and made from sugarcane rather than petroleum based plastics.

Glen Prairie’s menu is designed to emphasize seasonal ingredients to showcase a variety of American flavors. The restaurant team shops local farmers' markets several times a week to source fresh ingredients.

We arrived early and was still seated immediately. Baked onion soup was delicious. Entrees of beef short ribs and pork tenderloin were very good. My husband’s salad with apples, walnuts and cranberries was the best he has ever had. Highly recommend!

Glen Prairie has good, consistent and reasonably priced food. Although not high end, I have never had a disappointing meal there. Service is usually good, but it cab be spotty. For example, on this visit our appetizers were out welk before my wine was delivered. Overall, if you are looking for good food and a good value, I would recommend Glen Prairie.

Went with extended family on NYE. Some of us ordered from the Prix Fixe menu (special for NYE), some of us ordered off the regular menu. We enjoyed Firecracker shrimp and hummus/pita/veggie appetizers. The entrees were very flavorful and filling. Most of us ordered a filet or shortribs. The hazelnut chocolate cake (one of the dessert choices on the special menu) was decadent and delicious. Great experience--highly recommend!

The food was so good. Our family has to eat gluten free and having an entire menu that we could eat off of and was delicious was so helpful. Even if we didn't eat gluten free we would eat here again. Staff was very helpful and the atmosphere was still decorated from the holidays. Only down side was it was a little on the pricier end but glad to support this local business to continue to provide quality food.

Dined on Christmas Eve after searching for a good holiday menu. The food was amazing. Our group of five ordered the Prime Rib and the Salmon dinners. Too bad the prime rib isn’t on the regular menu because my husband keeps raving about it. The special cocktails were made perfectly. The atmosphere was slightly underwhelming. Would have felt more special with some holiday decor. The server was attentive but slightly distant which made it awkward . Overall a great Christmas Eve meal for the price. Definitely will dine here again.

We love Glen Prairie. Two of us cannot eat gluten and their menu items can all be made gluten free. The service is amazing, as is the food. Highly recommend it!

The service from our waitress was fantastic but the bartender told us at 9:20 that we "only had 10 more minutes" despite the restaurant's website stating they are open until 10pm.
