Le Giovanni's Trattu est sans doute le seul restaurant du district de Columbia à reproduire l'ambiance de Venise. Anciennement connu sous le nom de Trattu, ce petit restaurant confortable propose une cuisine plus légère du nord de l'Italie, région qui est reconnue pour ses saveurs uniques. Le vaste menu évolue selon les saisons. La salle à manger principale peut accueillir 60 convives et est éclairée par des chandelles en soirée. Vous y serez divertis par un guitariste et chanteur qui se promène de table en table en jouant les accords parfaits pour chaque occasion. Une collection de poteries colorées et de masques vénitiens accrochés aux murs complètent le décor. Bien que le Giovanni's Trattu soit idéal pour des soirées privées, les clients qui recherchent une expérience plus intimiste peuvent prendre place à l'une des deux tables du petit jardin extérieur.

Charming restaurant! Variety of authentic Italian dishes. Mozzarella was fresh and perfectly salted! Nice wine selection….

This is our favorite Italian restaurant of all time!! Always delicious and never disappoints! We always go whenever we are in DC! What a neighborhood gem!

Warm and welcoming. First time dining. Everything was fresh and delicious. Enjoyed the seafood tower, the prosciutto and mozzarella, lobster ravioli, and veal scallopinni. Small but thorough wine selection. Excellent Italian gin. We were there for a birthday, and they kindly brought a helping of tiramisu with a candle for the birthday celebrant, and sang the song. Will definitely return.

Incredibly attentive service. I could have sworn they had my grandmother back there cooking. The flavors were superb.

I have been a happy customer of Giovanni's Trattu for many years. It is close enough to my house that I can walk there. The food is fantastic - always great Italian treasures that satisfy perfectly! The serving sizes are HUGE! But it is really the service that keeps me coming back. The staff is friendly, smart, helpful and consistent! I love them! The ambience is like a little neighborhood place that is comfortable and homey. I love the Trattu!!!

2nd time here. 1st experience made us return for the second time to celebrate our 32nd Wedding Anniversary and it was a huge disappointment. There was a patron that came in with a Service Dog and I Love animals and while I understand the need for service animals this dog smelled so bad and we asked to be moved to another table. The food: Calamari was cooked well and very tender. The garlic cheese bread was great. The entrees were thee huge disappointment. Eggplant Parmesan which is my ultimate favorite and my go to, was not fresh-tasted as if was frozen, thawed and cheese placed on top, which was burnt/chewy and it came out just warm but the pasta that came with was hot and tasty so I was very confused. Hubby ordered the Veal and it was covered in a brown sauce that tasted like bland flour. The pasta that came with was hot and tasty as with the eggplant dish. The staff was very apologetic and asked if i wanted something else in place of the eggplant dish, but i declined. Tried to make up for the terrible meal experience by giving us 2 glasses of bubbly and a dessert with a candle, which was thoughtful. I thought this was going to be our special Italian Gem after our 1st time, but we will probably not be returning.
