We have dined here often and always had favorites. The new menu is a disaster. Crab cakes were terrible. Oysters were poorly breaded and on chewy boiled spinach and expensive for the paltry portion. The strawberry scone dessert was lots of dry scone and a little bit of ice cream. I doubt we’ll be back to dine for a long while. We always had a good meal on previous visits and love the ambiance. Too bad the new menu is such a disaster.

We have been here many times in the past(3-4 times per yr for last 5+ years) and have always had a great experience. This time was different. New menu courtesy of the “new culinary team” with the loss of several of our favorite menu items (some of their best sellers I’m sure). And a nearly doubling of prices since our last visit 2 months ago-the restaurant was never inexpensive but the quality and service justified the pricing. Not anymore-food quality adequate but not at this price point. Service was excellent -no complaints there and we tipped accordingly. But a doubling of the prices makes this somewhere we won’t return to. And the heat-the area around our table had to be nearly 80 degrees(we were inside) and when we asked about the high temp we were told they were having issues with the HVAC. Made the overpriced meal even worse. We really like GiGis, but probably won’t be returning.

I would like to inform you that we have a new chef who joined us a month ago, and we are continuously monitoring our prices in relation to the cost of goods to ensure that our food quality and price point are aligned. I apologize for the HVAC issue, which unfortunately coincided with the recent heat wave. I am pleased to report that the issue has been resolved, and the dining room is now at a comfortable temperature for all our diners. Thank you for your previous patronage. We would be happy to welcome you back if you decide to give us another chance.

Our recent dinner was not as good as past experiences at Gigi’s. They have reduced their menu. My husband’s steak was just ok. It was very warm in the restaurant. Service was great.

We are pleased to hear that the service was great and will gladly share that feedback with the team. We are excited to welcome a new chef who started a month ago. To showcase their strengths, we have updated our menu. We will continue to monitor feedback and make adjustments to ensure we offer the best possible food options. Gigi's substantially changed their menu ahead of Father's Day so that it differed from the online version -- not only were the options quite different, but the menu was substantially shorter (one page, very few options). Furthermore there were no vegetarian options besides salads, only one fish option (the shrimp dish had sausage in it), and nearly all dishes had a substantial element of spiciness to them (while I love spice, one member of our party is very sensitive and had difficulty figuring out an option). What made our experience particularly difficult was Gigi's refusal to allow minor substitutions (i.e. condiments, spice level) and refusal to add a protein to a salad that the restaurant had in stock (which we would have been more than happy to pay for), which was explicitly an option on the old menu. While I understand why a chef would not want to back up their kitchen for customer substitution requests, this policy should have been relaxed considering the extremely short menu that had been changed at the last minute -- in fact, the online version of the menu still had not been changed by the time we sat at our table. But the most frustrating portion of our evening was when the manager came over to ask how we were doing. One member of our party brought up (politely) the last-minute menu change and lack of options for diners, to which the manager perplexingly retorted that Gigi's didn't want to allow additions/substitutions because it might create an influx of customers to the establishment (???), and that proteins were still allowed to be added to dishes for breakfast options but not dinner (again, ???). I should note that my dishes (crab soup, salmon) were delicious, and the service by our waitress was lovely. However this did not extend to the all of the dishes that my companions ate (an over-cooked burger, bland grits, etc.), and their negative experience regrettably ruined what should have been a relaxing Father's Day dinner.

The music we felt was inappropriate for an expensive restaurant. Country & Western music seems more appropriate for a bar with peanuts on the floor. It created an ambiance inconsistent with the food and price Gigi’s is trying to create. Perhaps, I am mistaken with the clientele the restaurant is trying to serve.

Have been going to GiGis for years and typically love it. I usually get the same thing but occasionally deviate a bit. Last night I got my usual New Orleans Garlic Shrimp and a cup of crab soup. I absolutely love the shrimp but last night it was subpar. The butter garlic sauce was watery with little flavor. I also noticed that I only received 4 large shrimp when I have always been served 5 in the past. The price also increased to$16. The crab soup was a very small serving for$11. The base had a really nice flavor but I don't think I found one piece of crab meat in the bowl. That was very disappointing. Something has changed and not for the better. It will be a while before I return. One a positive note, the service was excellent. Food not so much.
