My husband and I made reservations (highly recommended) and ended up sitting at the bar - also recommend for 2 people. Very intimate space filled with positive energy. The buzz of the super friendly staff serving guests and preparing sushi helps build excitement as you wait for your food. Pork gyoza was incredible and the Sushi was by far the best I’ve had in Wilmington. Really refreshing and enjoyable date night place! Feels like you’re eating at a hidden gem in some big city. Loved it!

The food is amazing, and I’m not using that word lightly here. It’s unlike any sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to. The chef makes his sauces from scratch, including the soy sauce. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The signs at the hostess stand kind of ruined the ambiance. Idk if they are constantly getting unreasonable customers or what, but it seemed a little excessive. Overall, I’d say it’s the best sushi in town. It’s a little pricey, but in my opinion it’s worth it.

After living in Japan for 3 years it’s hard for me to find a place that can replicate the quality of sushi and meals I used to experience there, but Genki made me feel like I was back in Japan. From the food, the ambience, and the friendly staff all together was an amazing experience and will be back again for more.

Love this place! They have amazing sushi and the fish is always super fresh! Love the wagyu as well, definitely recommend to anyone and everyone who loves Japanese anything! Everyone is always so friendly also!
