Le chef James Boyce et Suzan, sa femme et partenaire, vous invitent au Galley and Garden, la nouvelle destination de Birmingham pour savourer une cuisine d'inspiration américaine et française. Occupant l'historique Merritt House sur Highland Avenue, le Galley and Garden a fait l'objet de travaux de rénovation durant l'été 2014, rehaussant la splendeur de la maison d'origine en y ajoutant des touches modernes.     This was a sponsored wine tasing and enjoyable. We then went downstairs for dinner -good food. Not loud.

    The menu was a delight! I had a hard time deciding what to order, because everything sounded so good! Went with the soup of the day, which was shredded pork, carrots, tomatoes, black beans. Delicious and homemade. Entree, I had beef short rib with mashed potatoes and haricot vert. Also delish. Dessert was banana pudding, which was made with Biscoff cookies. 10 out of 10. Husband had cornmeal dusted fried oysters, just like his momma used to make, so he was happy! For his entree he ordered lobster ravioli with Conecuh sausage, also his favorite! I’m sad we live so far away, cause I would eat there every week if I could! Service was top notch, cocktails were top notch too!

    One of those times you have such high expectations but it was a miss. Strong welcome at Valet and Hostess desk, cool place and ambience. We were sat near the bar and kitchen despite being essentially empty. The initial greeting with water service was as expected… smile, warm, top notch. The assigned service staff was not quite what we expected of such a nice establishment. She was attentive in time but nothing hospitable. It could have been that she was also covering the bar tending (she explained she is not the bar tender on most night. Food was averagely good but again, perhaps the expectations were too high. Would go again for a second try but not for a special occasion.

    We had 5 entrees with 2 appetizers, and everything was delicious except 1 entree was a little dry.

    We enjoyed a quiet Sunday at one of our favorite restaurants. Service and food were exemplary as usual. Highly recommend the short rib!!

    We always enjoy their hospitality and how they are so accommodating. Tonight my husband found one dish to be too salty and they did everything they could to make it right. I’m a vegan and enjoyed their walnut pate and spinach salad. Id love to see some seasonal variation for vegans but everything was delicious. Our friends had never been there and loved their selections. We will definitely return !
